The Rock of Cleveland - Remembering Rocky Colavito
Cleveland is proud to be home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But there is another Rock that is revered by many lifelong Cleveland Indians fans. This Saturday, the Cleveland Indians will honor Rocky Colavito, on the date of his 80th birthday. This gesture is not only appropriate, but long overdue. The IBI's DJ Sebastian reminisces about Colavito and why he had such a big impact on fans during his time in baseball.

Sailing with the Clippers: 8/1/13 to 8/7/13
Any hopes of the Clippers reaching the playoffs in 2013 are fading fast. After another mediocre 3-4 week, Columbus finds themselves 6.5 games out of a Wild Card spot and 11 games out of first place in the International League West. Second Thoughts Game #114: Tigers 6, Indians 5
After dropping two straight deflating games to the Tigers, the Indians turned to Danny Salazar to try to get some of their mojo back. The kid took the hill and was sensational in his second career start punching out 10 Tiger hitters and going 7.2 innings before making a big mistake to Miguel Cabrera. Prince Fielder later did the Tribe in and they are now 0-3 in this series, and the IBI's Michael Goodman shares his second thoughts...

The Inside Pitch 2.15: Time to hit the Panic Button?
During this week's special afternoon edition, Andrew and Jeff will discuss whether now is the time to hit the panic button with the Cleveland Indians. Can they still contend? Why is Asdrubal Cabrera still hitting cleanup? Does Terry Francona leave his pitchers in too long? They'll also talk some NFL football. Is it worth watching pre-season games? Should there be any reason to be concerned about Trent Richardson? What should we expect from the Cleveland Browns this season? All that and more on this week's edition of The Inside Pitch!

Late Homerun Burns Captains 3-2
Jesse Winker hit his 16th homerun of the season in the bottom of the eighth inning and the Dayton Dragons (25-21) defeated the Captains (21-24) by a final of 3-2. The first two hitters of the inning reached base and then jogged home on the three-run shot. The Dragons won just their fourth game of the season against the Captains.

After yet another depressing loss at the major league level, why not take some time to focus on the happiness and promise of the minor leagues? Why not bask in the insane success of Trevor Frank in the Mahoning Valley bullpen or the way that a finally healthy Alex Monsalve is producing at Akron? Leave all your Tiger trouble behind and join Jim Piascik as he recaps all you need to know about Wednesday night in the minor leagues and goes Around The Farm.

Tigers, Tribe battle 14 innings, Indians drop their third straight, 6-5
Fourteen innings wasn’t even enough to sneak a win by the powerhouse of the American League Central. For the third night in a row, the Indians could not outlast the Detroit Tigers late in a ballgame as they took down the struggling Tribe, 6-5. The victory sends Motown to their 12th straight win, as they have won 15 of their last 16 games. Join Jim Berdysz as he recaps the action.

On-Deck with the Captains: 7/31/13 - 8/6/13
The Captains returned home this past week, where they posted a 3-4 record. The offense seemed to generate some more hits, though these hits didn't necessarily come at the right times. Timely hitting has been an issue for the team all season, but a couple of home runs boosted the offense through a few games. Stephanie Metzger recaps the week that was for the Captains.

Crushing the Numbers: 7/30/13 to 8/5/2013
It may have been a short week, but it was a successful one for the Crushers. Because of a rain out of their game against the WildThings on Friday night, the Crushers only played five games in seven days. They were a perfect 5-0. The Crushers have been carried by their sound pitching and defense so far in the second half, and that’s the way this team was built to succeed. The IBI's Kyle Ferrara shares the details of the week that was in his latest notebook...

Second Thoughts Game #113: Tigers 5, Indians 1
Well, if there was any doubt as to whether the Tigers and Indians were equals, it was answered in these last two games, or the whole season series between the two teams for that matter. The Indians are a good team with plenty of potential to grow, but Detroit was picked to win the World Series for a reason. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he recaps a bad inning by Masterson and a quiet night for the bats in another loss to Motown.
