Lee's striking pro debut makes him an All Star
The NY-Penn League All Star game gets underway tomorrow night right in our very own backyard at Mahoning Valley. Five Scrappers will get to enjoy the hometown festivities, and one of those is right-hander Jacob Lee who is off to a very good pro start putting up some very good numbers. Matt Miller had a chance to sit down with him recently and discuss his season to date.

Second Thoughts: Game #115 - Red Sox 14, Indians 1
The Indians finished off their seven game homestand on Sunday the way it started....with a loss. An ugly one at that as they lost 14-1 to the Red Sox. The Indians were able to end their 11-game slide during their homestand, but finished 3-4 during the short stay at home, and now go on the road where they have lost nine straight and head out West to play the Angles, A's and Mariners over the next ten days. Kevin Dean provides his second thoughts on yesterday's ugly loss...

Lowery, Captains fly by Hawks, 10-6
Jake Lowery led the Lake County Captains over the South Bend Silver Hawks as he hit his sixth home run of the season to carry the Captains to a 10-6 victory on Sunday. Elvis Araujo (6-9, 5.21) received the win for the Captains as he countered South Bend’s 6’8” lefty Andrew Barbosa (2-3, 3.89).

Around the Farm: August 12, 2012
Tony Wolters continues to have the type of season post-April that the Indians were hoping that he'd have, hitting .298, which is tops for the Mudcats over that stretch. Lake County had about 200 players roll out multi-hit games on Sunday, in a who's who of the most talented team in the system. At the top of ATF is a guy I've been high on all season...and the bandwagon is about to fill up...after the jump...

Rayl, Urshela stymie Lynchburg, 5-0
Mike Rayl has been an anchor for Carolina over the last few weeks, and his unrelenting will power helped the Carolina Mudcats combine on a 5-0 shutout of the Lynchburg Hillcats on Sunday evening at Calvin Falwell Field.

New Hampshire shuts out Aeros, 3-0
Fisher Cats starter Yohan Pino and the New Hampshire bullpen combined to hold Akron to just five hits, shutting out the Aeros, 3-0, on Sunday at Canal Park. With the loss, the Aeros lost the series and the final game of their homestand. The series loss was the second on the current homestand. Akron remains in first place in the Eastern League Western Division.

Arizona Rookie League Notebook: August 5-August 12
The predominantly teenage Tribe went 4-2 on the week and while their defense was stagnated with errors early in the week, they cleaned their act up later with a pair of errorless showings. The offense was rolling, per usual, though the bullpen and eventually dropped games to the AZL Giants and A’s late in the week.

It's time for Dolan to sell the Indians
The Indians are on their way to their 11th season in 13 years under the ownership of Larry Dolan where they will miss the playoffs. They have gone through two rebuilds under his watch, and may be on the cusp of a third. Fan favorites have left via free agency or been traded. Attendance has plummeted to last in MLB. In his inaugural piece for the IPI, Steve Garton - a season ticket holder - says it is time for Dolan to sell.

Tribe Happenings: Radinsky is not the only one to blame
With the recent long losing streak the makeup of the Indians' roster and coaching staff has changed dramatically the past few weeks. This is what happens when a team suffers from the disappointment of no longer contending and being pushed into evaluation mode. Tony gives his thoughts on the recent firing of pitching coach Scott Radinsky and what else may happen, plus he discusses the latest Hafner injury, the release of Jason Knapp, a call for Jeanmar Gomez to get another shot, and tons more.

Second Thoughts: Game #114 Indians 5, Red Sox 2
Somewhere, both Chris Antonetti and Mark Shapiro were smiling last night as newly acquired utility man Brent Lillibridge and the Indians defeated Red Sox on Saturday, 5-2. After a slow start to the ballgame, the Tribe bats warmed up late scoring four of their five runs over the last four innings of the game.

Around the Farm: August 11, 2012
Dillon Howard took to the mound, inducing 13 ground ball outs in a six-inning performance. Bryce Stowell and Rafael Perez returned on the relief front, for one inning of work each. Tony Wolters and Giovanny Urshela continued their hitting streaks, while the Sabour-tooth Tiger rolled out another two-hit performance. Logan Vick made an appearance in the top three, along with a couple of other guys that just don't get any respect...find out who, after the jump...

Neal and Salazar lead Aeros
Left fielder Thomas Neal hit his 10th home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth and righty Danny Salazar got his first career Double-A win as the Akron Aeros beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 8-3. Salazar (1-0, 3.72), making his second start for the Aeros, pitched five strong innings in his Canal Park debut.

Tribe Bullpen Struggles to Shut Down Late
The AZL Indians bullpen couldn’t throw the shutout innings they needed in a back-and-forth game on Friday night. After starter Kieran Lovegrove threw 3 shutout innings, each pitcher after him surrendered at least a run. However, from an offensive standpoint, second baseman Claudio Bautista kept his hot hitting up with two hits and his 4th homer of the season.
