2012 MLB Draft: Day 2 thoughts and more
Day 2 of the 2012 MLB Draft came and went yesterday. The Indians made 14 selections and were split right down the middle selecting seven high school players and seven college players. Tony recaps the day with tons of quotes from Director of Amateur Scouting Brad Grant on several of their picks and their strategy with their picks, provides several comments from scouts outside the organization, and gives his insight into the draft with the Indians strategy and what he likes and maybe dislikes about what they have done so far.

Around the Farm: June 6, 2012--Matt LaPorta-who?
Columbus scored 21 runs yesterday, and as you can imagine, dominated ATF on Tuesday night. Zeke Carrera rolled out a four hit-five run performance, perhaps re-emerging as a potential fourth outfielder. T.J. McFarland continued to gain footing as a top prospect with another seven-inning gem. The star of Tuesday night's show is the guy that has taken Matt LaPorta's slot as our ATF star. Could he be LaPorta's replacement in Cleveland in the future? Here's ATF...draft style...

Johnson has settled into closer's role
Low-A Lake County right-handed reliever Jeff Johnson got off to a very slow start, but after a few tough outings he has been on quite a roll and has settled in as the closer for the team. A year removed from the draft and an injury scare, he is back pitching as good as he ever has. Stephanie Metzger talked to him this week and provides the details on his season to date.

Second Thoughts: Game #54 - Indians 4, Tigers 2
The Indians beat the Tigers on Tuesday night by a score of 4-2, their fourth in a row against the Motor City Kitties. The Indians once again played to their strengths as they got very good starting pitching from Ubaldo Jimenez, the bullpen was very good, and they were opportunistic with their hits. Charlie Adams chimes in with his second thoughts on the big night for the Indians.
