2012 Indians Draft: 6/14 Signing update
On Tuesday the Indians officially released that they inked nine players from their 2012 Draft. Tony provides updates on several of the other unsigned picks and who may be the next group of players signed. He has information from at least five other players that they will soon sign (or may have already signed), and he also updates an error reported from another news outlet on a player that is still very much in the mix for the Indians to sign.

Second Thoughts: Game #61 - Indians 3, Reds 5
The Indians ran into another hot pitcher last night and the bullpen gave up another crucial two-run homer in the seventh inning which put the game out of reach, resulting in a 5-3 loss by the Indians to the Reds. Today they finish up their series with an afternoon game and will try to salvage one game in the series, but before they do that, check out Charlie Adams' "second thoughts" from last night's game.

Around the Farm: June 13, 2012
Thomas Neal is a talented ballplayer who has gotten lost in the shuffle with the Indians organization, but a move to the top of the order in Akron may change that. Anthony Gallas continues to be a classic overachiever with the Mudcats, just like he was with the Captains last season. Wednesday's ATF headline grabber is a former fourth round pick that's spent most of his career getting bombed. Check out how he may be getting the last laugh, after the jump...

Aeros split doubleheader with Rock Cats
The Aeros split a double-header with the New Britain Rock Cats Wednesday night at New Britain Stadium to move to 40-21 and remain seven games ahead of Harrisburg for 1st place. New Britain starter Steve Hirschfield struck out eight and left fielder Nate Hanson went 2-3 with two RBIs to help New Britain to a 3-1 victory over the Aeros in the first game of Wednesday night’s double-header.

Gallas, Mudcats pounds Lynchburg, 7-2
Kyle Blair stifled Lynchburg hitters, and the Carolina Mudcats’ offense pulled away for a 7-2 victory on Wednesday night at Lynchburg City Stadium. Three players had multi-hit efforts in the win for Carolina (31-35). Blair (5-1) earned his fourth straight winning decision, holding the Hillcats (35-31) to one run on two hits over five innings.

MacPhee stays hot, but Captains still lose 5-4
The Lake County Captains could not take advantage of 12 total hits or a late inning rally on Wednesday as they fell to the South Bend Silver Hawks 5-4. Right-hander Felix Sterling (3-5, 5.72) took the bump for the Captains against South Bend righty Tyler Green (1-3, 2.79). Green threw well in his last outing against the Captains while Sterling was coming off a rough appearance against Dayton.

Fishing for Mudcats: "road to nowhere leads to me..."
The Mudcats just can't put together a week in which it all clicks. They are close, yet so far away. With the all-star break on the horizon, the Mudcats are likely trying to figure things out going forward to make a run at the second half title. Check out this week's edition of Fishing for Mudcats with IPI's very own Jim Pete...

Indians trade for Esmil Rogers, send down Matt LaPorta
The Cleveland Indians acquired right handed relief pitcher Esmil Rogers from the Colorado Rockies for cash consideration. To make the move, the Tribe designated Luke Carlin for assignment to place him on the 40-man, and sent Matt LaPorta down to Columbus to clear space on their active roster.

Draft selection tops off great year for Lee
Right-handed pitcher Jacob Lee, the Indians 9th round pick in this year's draft, is one of the newest members of their farm system. The draft was an emotional high for him, especially after such a big low last season when he was not drafted. Tony talked to Lee a couple of days ago and welcomes him to the Indians' family.

Second Thoughts: Game #60 - Indians 1, Reds 7
The Indians started off the Battle of Ohio with a thud last night as they lost to the Reds in game one of their series 7-1. Really, it was "just baseball" as Cueto pitched brilliantly and the Indians hung in until the 7th inning when the Reds pulled away with a big homer from one of the hottest hitters in the National League. Charlie Adams provides his second thoughts...

Around the Farm: June 12, 2012
Jason Donald continued tbe the big, right-handed bat in Columbus, while Trevor Crowe rejoined him with the Clippers after a season of injury. Bryson Myles blasted a home run for his first solid game since an injury put him on the sideline for the better part of a month. Today's top spot goes to a surprise regular here at ATF. Find out exactly who that is, after the jump...

Catastrophic inning dooms Clippers in 13-6 loss
It was a promising start for the Clippers in Huntington Park, but one catastrophic inning would ultimately be too much to overcome. Columbus (30-35) fell to the Charlotte Knights (39-28) by a final score of 13-6 on Tuesday, and much of the Knights’ offense came courtesy of a fourth inning explosion in which they scored seven runs.

Myles, Morimando help lead Captains to 9-6 win
The Lake County Captains snapped a three-game losing streak on Tuesday night as they beat the South Bend Silver Hawks 9-6, thanks to a pair of home runs. Lake County sent left-hander Shawn Morimando (1-1, 4.22) to the bump against South Bend’s Jesse Darrah (5-2, 3.77), a righty whom the Captains hit hard back in May.

Minor Happenings: Tice is powering his way to a promotion
A bit of a catch-up posting today in Minor Happenings as this bi-weekly column was absent last week due to the insane amount of draft coverage on the site. In today’s Happenings, Tony takes a look at the recent hot performances from right-hander Mason Radeke and designated hitter Jeremie Tice, gets some more post-draft comments from Brad Grant, and provides some updates on players like Tyler Holt, Shawn Morimando, Nick Weglarz, and others.

Launching Off With The Aeros: 6/5/12 - 6/11/12
After the Akron Aeros win a game at home, they typically play the song "All I Do Is Win." Of late, that really is all the Aeros are doing. The Aeros won all six of their games over the past week, moving to 39-20 on the season and continuing their dominance of the Eastern League. As always, Jim Piascik breaks down the good and bad from the week and, as an added bonus, this edition of "Launching Off With The Aeros" is chock full of quotes from manager Chris Tremie and players Steven Wright and Roberto Perez.
