Santana Injured
As I just tweeted, Triple-A catcher Carlos Santana left the game today with an apparent left leg injury. He injured himself in the third inning of today's game against Louisville where in his second at bat of the game he fouled a ball hard off his lower leg, foot area. He immediately collapsed to the ground and was in considerable pain, and had to be helped off the field by teammates as he could...

Donald
At this time last year, infielder Jason Donald was playing with the Philadelphia Phillies Triple-A affiliate in Lehigh Valley trying to make every impression possible to somehow crack a Phillies infield situation where he was road-blocked by All-Stars Jimmy Rollins at shortstop and Chase Utley at second base.
Even though the situation in Philadelphia appeared impossible for Donald to fit into,...

Game Recap 4/20: Hagadone Helps Kinston End Slide
K-Tribe Gets 4-0 Win
The K-Tribe snapped a six game skid, shutting out Wilmington 4-0 Tuesday night in Delaware.
Kinston pitching was great again tonight, as starter Nick Hagadone gave up just two hits in 4 2/3 innings. Hagadone struck out three and walked one. Hagadone has not given up an earned run in three starts this season. T.J. McFarland got the win out of the pen, getting Hagadone...

With the Kinston Indians shutting out the Wilmington Blue Rocks 4-0 tonight, I can't help but wax poetic one more time about the pitching staff assembled in Kinston. Tonight, Nick Hagadone and T.J. McFarland combined on the three-hit shutout. Hagadone continues to showcase stud status, and as he builds his pitch count towards the three-digits, should also build a resume that gets him to Akron by...

2010 Columbus Clippers: Starting Rotation
When you get to the AAA level and take a look at each individual player they are generally grouped into one of two categories: quad-A, or legitimate big league prospect-in-waiting. Someone like Trevor Crowe has moved into the quad-A camp, whereas someone like Carlos Santana is obviously a big-league prospect in waiting. The thing we want to look at, is why they are viewed this way? Is it their minor...

The Cleveland Indians today announced they have optioned OF MICHAEL BRANTLEY to AAA Columbus.  Brantley opened the season with Cleveland and has hit .156 (5-32) with 1 double, 3RBI and 4 runs scored in 9 games so far this season.
To assume Brantley's place on the 25-man roster the Indians are expected to activate INF RUSSELL BRANYAN from the 15-day disabled list prior to tomorrow...

Akron's Week That Was: 4/8 - 4/18
The defending Eastern League Champions came out of the gates just as we would have expected them to. After taking the first two series from Trenton and Binghamton, the Aeros arrived in Akron to open up Canal Park against the other team in the EL that had gotten off to a hot start, Bowie. The Baysox clobbered the Aeros in the home opener and went on to take three of four from Akron to establish an...

The Sunday Drive With the K-Tribe: A Tale of Two Cities
These are the days that make living in North Carolina special. It's been downright summer-like over the past week, with weather hovering in the 80's and blue sky's in abundance. You'd think that the Kinston Indians' offense would have gotten the message. Unfortunately for the stellar pitching, that offense didn't do much to impress anyone over the past week. The K-Tribe lost five of the six games...

The year is 1992.
US President George Bush falls ill at a state dinner in Japan, vomiting into the lap of Japanese Prime Minister Kiichi Miyazawa. Russian President Boris Yeltsin announces that Russian nuclear missiles will no longer be pointed at U.S. cities. Serial killer Jeffery Dhamer is sentenced to life in prison. A suicide car-bomb goes off in the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires, killing...

Game Recap 4/17: Pino, Clippers Upstage Chapman
Columbus Beats Bats, Chapman
The Clippers (6-3) earned probably their most impressive victory of the season on Saturday afternoon as they beat highly touted Reds prospect Aroldis Chapman and the Louisville bats 3-1.
Chapman has become almost become something of a legend because of his 100 MPH fastball and the big contract he signed with the Reds in the offseason. But he proved to...

First Base Offers New Opportunity For Hodges
The beginning of a new season brings new opportunity.
For players who had good years the previous season, it presents them with the opportunity to add to the success with another successful season. But for those that maybe struggled with their performance or with injuries, the turn of the page on the calendar to a new season is always welcomed as an opportunity to get back to performing at...

Here is a listing of the Cleveland Indians affiliates going back to 1932. This listing is as complete as possible, though as new information comes in it will be updated (feedback is welcomed). If you need to reference this listing again in the future, it will be housed in the resource section for easy access in the future. I apologize for the formatting....I will continue to work on it to see if it...
