The 2012 Transaction Rundown: August 4-10

Whew!  What a week!  At one point the Indians had four players designated for assignment (is that some sort of Major League record?).  The Clippers roster ended the week standing at 22 (a few more callups sans countermove and we could be looking at the Grand Canyon of roster holes here).

In the Comings and Goings department, Fabio Martinez came and Jason Knapp went (good luck with your studies at Penn!).  And finally, what would a week be without more unusual moves involving catcher/human ping-pong ball Patric Tolentino.  Tolentino was placed on the Akron DL (not all that unusual) and four days later was assigned from the Aeros DL to the Lake County Captains Reserve List (unusual).  I hope he's getting gas reimbursement for all this driving between Akron and Eastlake.
