Call to the Bullpen: Episode 1.20
By Jake Dungan
August 28, 2013
Jake and Hayden are back on Call to the Bullpen to discuss the playoff races heating up in both leagues.
Right now, the Indians are legitimate playoff contenders as they currently sit three games out of the second wild card spot. However, they are at the beginning of a crucial nine-game stretch where they face Atlanta, Detroit and Baltimore before they conclude the regular season with a favorable September schedule.
In addition, the guys will give injury updates as well as discuss the Indians offensive struggles and what solutions they should try to spark the offense. Also, they'll speculate over potential upcoming waiver trades and September minor league call-ups.
Elsewhere in the major leagues, Mets ace Matt Harvey has been shut down with a partial UCL tear and faces possible Tommy John surgery. Plus, are the Yankees actually legitimate playoff contenders? And who's better equipped for the playoffs in the NL Central?
