AZL Tribe Trump D’Backs with 8th Inning Surge
The AZL Indians capitalized on two of the Diamondbacks’ four errors in the 8th inning to salvage their sixth victory of the season, setting them only two games under .500 and in second place in the AZL Central standings.
Catcher Martin Cervenka got the scoring started with a two run double in the second and would advance to third base on a throwing error and later score in the inning. Indians starter Luis Morel went 5 innings and struck out 8 Diamondbacks last night and walked only one. Morel’s big out pitch yesterday was his curveball that sat between 78-80 MPH with big bite. He worked with three pitches—fastball, changeup, and that curveball—and, once again, had good command with his pitches. Thus far on the season, he has an impressive 19:3 strikeout to walk ratio in 14.2 IP. Lefty Anderson Polanco relieved Morel in the 6th inning as he would give up two earned runs on a two run homer off the bat of the D’Backs...
