Around the Farm: December 10

Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Friday December 10th:

• Asdrubal Cabrera - SS, Leones del Caracas: 1-for-5, BB, K. Cabrera has now hit in 6 straight games and 9 of his last 10. Over the ten game stretch he is hitting .325/.400/.375 with 2 extra base hits and a 5-5 walk to strikeout ratio. As we know, Cabrera is out in Venezuela to play and just get at bats and little evaluation is being put into his play, but while his batting average and on-base percentage numbers are solid he has yet to show much power at the plate with 3 extra base hits in 13 games (.353 SLG).

Note: Jayson Nix was hit by a pitch and removed from the game on Wednesday (12/8) and has not played the last two games. Also, Ezequiel Carrera and Jerad Head were hit by pitches on Thursday night (12/9) and did not play yesterday.
