Here are some quick notes and news bits connected to the Indians coming out of Nashville as day four of the winter meetings gets underway today. The convoluted and crazy three or four team deal between the Indians, Rangers, Diamondbacks and other teams continues to dominate the news, and it appears momentum is being gained to get a deal done. Either way, it looks like Asdrubal Cabrera is not going to be an Indian for very much longer.

Luis Hernandez continues to impress with every plate appearance, and one has to wonder if the infielder could be more than your average minor league signing. Plus, Carlos Santana continues to scuffle in the DWL. The IPI's Steve Orbanek recaps all the action as he takes you Around the Farm.

The Cleveland Indians made several moves on Tuesday during the 2012-2013 Winter Meetings...almost. While the Indians seemed to walk down the familiar path of coming in second for a free agent, and missing out on a potential trade, the overall sense is that things are different. The Indians have money, and will spend it. The Indians have players and will trade them. They just have to find...the...first...taker...
It was a busy night once again around the various winter leagues. Right-hander Hector Rondon finally saw his streak of scoreless appearances come to an end while Jose Ramirez continues to hit in the DWL. Plus, recent acquisitions Mike McDade and Luis Hernandez have nice performances at the plate. All this and more as the IPI's Steve Orbanek takes you Around the Farm.

There is a lot of buzz in the winter meetings that the Indians could deal All Star shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera for a collection of young talent to impact the roster in other areas of need next season. Jeff Ellis thinks the Indians should capitalize on Cabrera's value while it is at its peak as his career path is eerily similar to another former All Star middle infielder for the Indians who put up good seasons but battled conditioning issues before his career fell off a cliff.
It was a quiet night in winter ball for the Indians as two of the leagues were not in action, and there were just three games total that were played in the Dominican Winter League and Venezuela Winter League.
