It was a big night for Tribe prospects, as Dorssys Paulino continued his barrage in the rookie league with another multi-hit game. Mitch Brown showcased his top-of-the-rotation talent as well. T.J. House continued his break-out party, and Cord Phelps showed off why many think he's a major league caliber player. The AZL Indians had a dominating 8-1 win over the visiting AZL Royals on Wednesday night. The offense was clicking with 15 hits, the pitching was great allowing one run on three hits, and the defense was sound not having any miscues.

The Carolina Mudcats (26-25) fell to the Frederick Keys (24-26) 8-2 sfter an hour and 35 minute rain delay 8-2 as the Keys were able to sweep the three game series. The Mudcats offense was only able to muster two hits in the game as the Keys starter Tim Berry tossed a stellar outing.

The Aeros defeated the Harrisburg Senators in game two of their series, 5-2, Wednesday night at Metro Bank Park. The Aeros boasted twelve hits led by Thomas Neal, Matt Lawson, and Chun Chen to take the Senators down for the second night in a row.

Just a night after Eastwood Field played host to the NYPL All-Star Game, it served as the battleground for a the Scrappers and Auburn Doubledays. The big crowd and large media presence were gone, but those that turned up to watch the teams continue their respective regular seasons saw a dandy, as they watched the Scrappers just edge the Doubledays in what was a nip-and-tuck 5-4 affair.

For the first seven innings on Wednesday night, it looked like a sure blowout victory for the Columbus Clippers (64-61). Their starting pitcher was dominating, and their offense was putting on a performance that Huntington Park hadn’t seen in a couple weeks. Then in one inning, the floor fell out from underneath their feet.

The Lake County Captains (27-23, 58-61) came right out of the gates with six runs in the first four innings and the pitching staff threw a five hit shutout to back the offense up in a 7-0 win over the Dayton Dragons (21-28, 51-68) on Wednesday night.

Ubaldo Jimenez continued his very disappointing season for the Indians this year with another poor outing last night in the Indians 9-6 loss to the Angels. The Angels put up four quick runs in the first inning to stake Zach Greinke to a 4-0 lead and it was pretty much smooth sailing from there. William Biggar shares his second thoughts on the game.

Who is the top shortstop prospect in the Tribe's farm system? With every passing day, Dorssys Paulino is making a case that he deserves to be right up there with Francisco Lindor. Tuesday was no different as the 17-year-old Paulino might have just had his best offensive performance yet. Niles, Ohio isn’t usually the place to be. But for one night, it was. At least it was for the elite of the New York-Penn League, as they gathered to take part in the New-York Penn League All-Star Game on what was a rainy August evening. Joining them were several thousand of their family members, closest friends, and biggest fans, as Eastwood Field played host to it’s first ever All-Star Game. Matt Miller recaps the game.

The Carolina Mudcats (26-24) were stifled by Frederick Keys (23-26) starter Devin Jones as they fell to the Keys 5-2 on Tuesday night. Jones tossed six scoreless innings and was backed by five runs to allow the Keys to take the first two games of the series.

The Akron Aeros put on a comeback performance to snag their 71st win of the season against the Harrisburg Senators, 2-1, on Tuesday night at Metro Bank Park. Second basemen Matt Lawson, who went 2-for-2 on the night, hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to push the winning run across for Akron in game one of the three-game series.

It was a quick, quiet night for the Columbus Clippers (64-60) on Tuesday night as they fell to the Durham Bulls (58-67) by a final score of 6-3. Both offenses were able to do some damage early. The Clippers struck in the first inning on an RBI double into deep left by right fielder Vinny Rottino.
