The Clippers couldn't maintain two leads and lost 7-5 Sunday to the Louisville Bats. The Clippers lost three of four to the Bats and are now two and a half games behind Louisville in the West Division.

Hello and welcome to the first edition of "Ghosts of Prospects Past"—the only IPI column that favors hindsight over foresight. Tapping into my irrational nostalgia for obscure roster moves and forgotten future stars, I’ll be helping to shed a little light on the current Indians by looking at where they’ve gone wrong—and right—in the past. After all, before any...
Brian Hagerman is a new site writer, and he was at the Akron game on Friday night to see Jake Westbrook and the rest of the Akron Aeros in action.
Jake Westbrook pitched four scoreless innings and the Cleveland Indians beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-3. An Indians' win with Westbrook pitching sounds good - but Westbrook actually took the mound in Akron and worked four quality innings in a rehab...
"Minor Happenings" covers the important developments and news in the Indians farm system. While most of the information in this report is from my own research and through interviews I have conducted with organizational personnel, some information in this report is collected and summarized from the various news outlets that cover each team.

Columbus tops Louisville 2-1 in extras
The Clippers beat Louisville 2-1 in ten innings on Friday at Huntington Park.
Jack Cassel and Homer Bailey put on a pitching clinic for the 10,751 fans in attendance. Neither factored in the decision, but the third largest crowd this season witnessed the first extra inning game in Huntington Park history. Niuman Romero scored from second on an error...
Akron and Kinston were postponed due to rain.
Clippers baffled in opener
The Columbus Clippers offense was stagnant in a 6-1 loss to the Louisville Bats on Thursday. Bats starting pitcher Ramon Ramirez entered the game with a winless record and a season ERA over five. Against the Clippers however, Ramirez was much better. He pitched six innings, striking out three while only allowing...

Okay, before we get underway with the third and final day of the draft today I wanted to give a couple of updates.
First off, the Indians will have two rehab starts in the system tonight with RHP Jake Westbrook getting his second rehab start in Double-A Akron. He is expected to go four innings or an unspecified pitch count at the moment. Whichever comes first. After the outing, he is expected...
It has been a busy past 24+ hours for the Indians, as they have added 30 new players into their Indians family and still have to add 20 more today with rounds 31-50. With all the new players picked, for most their time as an Indian will be short as more than half will not sign by the August 15th signing date and enter the draft again next year looking to improve their slot.
For information...
