Akron Insider: 2014 Review - The pitchers
Over the past few weeks the IBI's Tony Lastoria has provided year-end pieces like this for rookie level Arizona, Short-A Mahoning Valley, Low-A Lake County and High-A Carolina. In today's second part of his Akron review, Tony sits down with Indians Director of Player Development Carter Hawkins to get the organization’s thoughts on the performance/development of the pitchers there such as Will Roberts, Joe Colon, Cody Anderson, Shawn Armstrong, Duke von Schamann and over a half a dozen others.

At 6pm tonight the unveiling of the winners of the AL and NL Cy Young Award will be announced live on MLB Network. The Indians very own Corey Kluber will be on0air to talk about the award and give his reaction should he win it. Be sure to tune in! Cuddyer deal improves Indians draft standing
The baseball world got a bit of a surprise on Monday as Michael Cuddyer became the first free agent to sign a new contract. The surprise came about because after the Rockies extended him the qualifying offer a few days ago it was felt there was no chance anyone would sign him. For a bad team the Colorado Rockies have been in the news a lot of late. They made a change at the top with the retirement of former Cleveland Indians front office member Dan O’Dowd and now are listening to trade offers on their top two players Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez. Brantley, Gomes honored to win Silver Slugger Awards
They first came to Cleveland as virtual no names. One, as a player to be named later, the other listed as a utility man. Now household names and Tribe cornerstones, Michael Brantley and Yan Gomes have each been awarded one of baseball's highest honors: The Silver Slugger Award. IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz caught up with both players on a phone conference Friday, where both players shared thoughts on the award and look ahead to 2015.
