Lake County Captains lose big lead, game to Lansing Lugnts
The Lake County Captains lost their fifth straight game Wednesday, falling to the Lansing Lugnuts, 6-5. The Captains held a 4-0 advantage, but saw the lead evaporate late. Even though Lake County had four players with multiple hits, Lansing simply found a way to get it done late when the Captains could not.

Carolina Mudcats lose tight battle with Wilmington Blue Rocks
The Carolina Mudcats lost a back and forth battle with the Wilmington Blue Rocks Wednesday, dropping their record to 10-9 this season. Carolina scored in the top of the first, but the Blue Rocks answered twice in the bottom half of the inning. Wilmington ended up sealing the win by blanking the dangerous Mudcats in the ninth inning.

Akron RubberDucks fall short against Trenton Thunder, 9-5
After giving up eight runs through the first four innings, the Akron RubberDucks made a desperate comeback attempt, but fell short as they lost to the Trenton Thunder, 9-5. Tyler Naquin tallied three hits, as did Tyler Holt, but the 12 total hits for the team were not enough to make up for a 1-11 showing with runners in scoring position.

Columbu Clippers relinquish early lead, lose 3-2 to Gwinnett
After leading early in the game, the Columbus Clippers lost 3-2 to the Gwinnett Braves Wednesday. Columbus scored both its runs in the bottom of the first inning before allowing one in the fourth and the deciding runs in the eighth. The Clippers' third and forth batters – Nyjer Morgan and Jesus Aguilar – both went 0-4 in the game.

It has been a rocky start to the season to say the least for the Columbus Clippers. At 7-10 the Clippers just recently rose above Toledo in the International League West standings to get out of last place. Although the team has struggled to get to the .500 mark, there's been a glimmer of hope from many players. Fishing for Mudcats: 4/16/14 - 4/22/14
This past week, the Carolina Mudcats have played a lot of baseball competing in two doubleheaders and an extra inning game. The Mudcats were able to win four out of seven games, sweeping the Salem Red Sox in a doubleheader last Wednesday and taking two out of four against the Frederick Keys. Second Thoughts Game #20: Royals 8, Indians 2
The Indians had another poor showing from a starting pitcher and also made some key mistakes defensively which cost them on Tuesday night in an 8-2 loss to the Royals. The IBI's Charlie Adams walks through the game and examines some of the key moments and also takes a look at Danny Salazar's interesting change to his approach the second time through the Royals lineup which may have impacted his performance.

Captains fall 6-1 to Lugnuts, drop fourth straight
The Lansing Lugnuts (6-11) jumped ahead early in the game and rode a spectacular pitching performance by Jeremy Gabryszwski in a 6-1 win over the Lake County Captains (5-13) on Tuesday night. The Captains have dropped four straight and have lost nine of their last ten games.

RubberDucks blow late lead, lose 4-3 to Thunder
With momentum on their side heading into a four-game set with the Trenton Thunder, the Akron RubberDucks were looking to stay hot and gain some ground in the Western Division of the Eastern League. Following back-to-back nights in which the pitching staff blew leads, the momentum has officially faded and the RubberDucks have dropped the first two games of the series. On Tuesday, Akron held a lead through seven innings, but the Thunder put up three runs in the bottom half of the lead to secure a 4-3 victory.

Clippers blowout Braves 11-1, snap seven-game streak
The Columbus Clippers (7-10) got contributions from everybody in their 11-1 win over the visiting Gwinnett Braves (11-7) on Tuesday night. The Clippers dominated in all phases and snapped the Braves seven-game win streak.

Salazar's struggles continue, Indians fall to Royals, 8-2
Nobody said it was easy. For 24-year-old Danny Salazar (0-3, 7.85 ERA), the fast-pace of the big leagues is slowly beginning to wear on the Tribe starter in 2014.
