The Release of a Dream
Today we re-post an article that originally ran in May of 2008 that provides details into the release process in the minors and the emotions that players go through. That year the IBI's Tony Lastoria talked to three Indians minor league players that were recently released to get an understanding of the process and the whirlwind of emotions that follow. With the first full squad workout in the minors set for Monday, this is a fitting time to post this again as close to 15-20 players will be released in a few weeks.

Bases-loaded walk all Tribe pitchers need in 1-0 shutout
The only scoring in this game came courtesy of Asdrubal Cabrera, who drew a bases-loaded walk off Cubs right-hander Justin Grimm in the bottom of the fourth inning at Goodyear Ballpark. That would prove to be all the Indians hurlers would need on Thursday as the five of them would combine for a 1-0 shutout effort. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he covers all the highlights.

Masterson signs at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario?
The Cleveland Indians have apparently been given a potential break in the negotiations with their "ace" starter, Justin Masterson. According to the reports, Masty is reportedly copacetic with signing a deal that's far less in years and overall money than Homer Bailey's six-year, $105 million deal. Is his offer truly less time, and is it truly a discount when it's all said and done? IBI's Jim Pete talks Masterson, and the joys of Spring Training...

Indians bats rally late, trounce Mariners, 8-5
It wasn't a good start for Indians minor league right-hander Travis Banwart, but that wouldn't stop Tribe bats and bullpen from going quietly.
