Allen's rapid ascent a surprise even to himself
The rise to the big leagues is a tough, tumultuous trail at times, but Cleveland Indians’ relief pitcher Cody Allen was fortunate enough to fast-forward the process. Cody Allen started the 2012 season at High-A Carolina then breezed through Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus before getting his first ever big league call on July 20th. Stephanie Metzger recently sat down with the talented righty to try and bring into focus what has been a crazy, exciting year for him.

As good as it gets: Seddon is on a roll
Chris Seddon has been a force on the mound for the Columbus Clippers over the past two months, and is looking like he could be a big league option at some point this season. With rosters set to expand in about five weeks, Seddon's versatile left-handed arm could put him in the mix for a callup to the big league team in September if he finishes the season strong.

Health and playing time help Weglarz get on track
Double-A Akron outfielder Nick Weglarz has battled the injury bug the past several seasons, and it eventually caught up to him last season and the start of this season as his offensive performance took a nosedive. But he has gotten stronger over the course of this season, remained healthy, and made a few adjustments with his swing that have resulted in much better play of late.

Soto is not going to rest on his laurels
Double-A Akron left-handed pitcher Giovanni Soto made a date with history on Sunday when he threw the second nine inning complete game no-hitter in franchise history. Even with the huge accomplishment, Soto is determined to use it as a building block for a strong finish and continue to develop as a pitcher. Stephanie Metzger recently sat down with the talented southpaw and talked about the no-hitter and more...

Lavisky's progress has been slow, but he's still working hard
Low-A Lake County catcher Alex Lavisky has not performed up to expectations so far in his second full season as a professional, but he has the aptitude, the tools, and the drive to get better. There are few players in the system with more class and with as great a makeup as him, and he continues to work hard every day to get things right in the hope things eventually click and come together.

Elvis has entered the building...
Low-A Lake County left-handed pitcher Elvis Araujo jumped onto the prospect scene last season with a great year after missing the two previous seasons recovering from elbow surgery. This season has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for him, but Stephanie Metzger talked to him yesterday and he feels good and is just working to get better.

Tice is finding a home in the outfield
The Cleveland Indians have been looking for a right-handed outfielder with some pop for a while now, and Akron Aeros outfielder Jeremie Tice is looking to fill the role someday. Anderson is making big strides
Low-A Lake County All Star right-handed pitcher Cody Anderson made a big impression in the first half. He quickly settled into the starting rotation and pitched well, and now he is working on the finer points of pitching because he is still very new to it. Tony recently sat down with the former 2011 14th round pick and talked about how things are going.

House is rejuvenating his prospect status
Left-hander T.J. House has come back this season and rekindled his prospect status. It all started with his offseason workouts and his commitment to conditioning and nutrition, and it carried over from there to getting his mechanics in line and his command back on track. The result to date has been impressive, and Nathan Kemp recently had a chance to sit down and talk with him about his comeback season.

Radeke is out to prove everyone wrong
Low-A Lake County right-handed pitcher Mason Radeke is off to a very good start this season, and has really come on strong of late. As a 35th round pick of the Indians in last year's draft, he uses his low draft selection as motivation and just continues to attack hitters. Mike Zavagno recently had a chance to sit down with the right-hander...

Draft selection tops off great year for Lee
Right-handed pitcher Jacob Lee, the Indians 9th round pick in this year's draft, is one of the newest members of their farm system. The draft was an emotional high for him, especially after such a big low last season when he was not drafted. Tony talked to Lee a couple of days ago and welcomes him to the Indians' family.
