The Scrappers ended their 2013 season on Wednesday night with a 2-0 victory over the Auburn Doubledays. The Scrappers 2013 season was a tumultuous one, but ended on the right note, sending the Scrappers into the 2014 season with a little momentum.
The combination of clutch hits from the offense and brilliant pitching from Josh Tomlin and the bullpen were enough for the Clippers to down the Toledo Mudhens in their penultimate game of the season by a final score of 2-1.

After a bad inning from Josh Tomlin ruined an otherwise brilliant first rehab appearance in Columbus, a good inning for the Clippers' bats won them the game over the Gwinnett Braves by a final score of 11-4.
As has been the theme this season and the story last night, errors from the Scrappers cost them yet another a winnable game, as the CrossCutters were victorious on Monday night by a final score of 4-2. The Scrappers had five total errors in Monday’s contest, all of which were monumental in scoring situations. Multiple errors were what gave the CrossCutters a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning and multiple errors were what won the CrossCutters the game in the eighth.
On Sunday afternoon in Williamsport, the site of the ongoing Little League World Series, history was made as the Williamsport Crosscutters no-hit the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and secured an 8-0 victory.
The Scrappers were on the cusp of splitting a two-game series with the Auburn Doubledays before errors and a walk-off sac-fly sent them packing by a score of 4-3. Re-energized by the miscues of their opponents, the Doubledays won the game 4-3 in the bottom of the tenth and swept the Scrappers on a walk-off sac-fly from catcher Andruth Ramirez.
Well, after a dreadful stretch of 12 straight losses essentially ruined their season, the Scrappers have come back with a vengeance. In 20 games since the streak, the Scrappers have managed to put together a 13-7 record and a 5-5 record since the last Scrapperbook.
