Portland third baseman Marquez Smith had two runs batted in while four Sea Dogs pitchers combined to throw a four-hitter, as Portland defeated the Akron Aeros, 3-1, Tuesday. Mike MacDonald, Jason Urquidez, Brock Huntzinger and Michael Olmsted kept the Aeros quiet in the series opener at Canal Park, allowing just four hits and one run.

But he has gotten stronger over the course of this season, remained healthy, and made a few adjustments with his swing that have resulted in much better play of late.

Aeros left fielder Thomas Neal hit a walk-off single with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, as Akron beat Harrisburg, 6-5. With the win, Akron (58-39) swept the Senators while increasing their winning streak to six games.
In 2009, Kyle Landis was an up-and-comer in the Indians' organization. In 2010, a mystery ailment left Landis with a numb throwing arm, and nobody knew the answers. Akron, OH — Akron knuckleballer Steven Wright took a no-hitter into the seventh inning Friday night, picking up his seventh win of the season as the Aeros shut out the Altoona Curve, 3-0, at Canal Park.
After the Akron Aeros got on the board early in the first inning, the Bowie Baysox scored seven unanswered runs to defeat the Aeros, 7-1, in the opener of a three-game series at Prince George’s Stadium. Akron continued its struggles just games before the Eastern League All-Star break. The Aeros have now dropped nine of their last 12 games and have just a 2.5 game lead in the EL Western Division.
The Erie SeaWolves fought back from a three-run deficit, riding six unanswered runs to a 6-3 win over the Akron Aeros in the final game of a three-game series Friday night at Jerry Uht Park. The Aeros (50-37) lost two of three against the SeaWolves (42-43) to complete the first half of their current road trip.

Richmond grabbed an early lead in the first inning off Aeros starter Steven Wright and never trailed in the game. The Squirrels increased the lead to 4-0 after scoring three runs in the third, the first of which came from a homer hit by Richmond designated hitter Johnny Monell. Richmond added another run in the fourth to make the score 5-0.
