Pitching dominates, Indians split doubleheader with Padres
Even Meat Loaf knows that two out of three ain't bad. The Indians and Padres split Wednesday's traditional doubleheader, as pitching was the game of the game in the twin bill. Despite a win and loss on the day, the Tribe was still able to take the three-game series improving to 8-4 all-time against San Diego since 2003. IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz recaps the action from the ballpark.

Nyjer Morgan: Back where he belongs
Few people get to travel the world. For center fielder Nyjer Morgan, he's had to endure just that in order to keep his big league career alive. Signed to a minor league contract this offseason with an invite to spring training, Morgan has quickly impressed Cleveland with his bat and unique veteran presence. IBI Tribe beat reporter Jim Berdysz caught up with the man they call "Tony Plush" and shares his thoughts on one of the Indians new faces in 2014.

Murphy, Morgan help Indians win over Padres, 8-6
A new season brings new faces and new contributions from the top and bottom of the lineup. Outfielders David Murphy and Nyjer Morgan are two of those new faces, as both are quickly making names for themselves in their new city. Behind a quality outing from starter Corey Kluber, the Indians found themselves back in the win column Tuesday night, defeating the Padres, 8-6. Join IBI Tribe beat reporter Jim Berdysz as he recaps the action from the ballpark.

Starting pitching woes continue, Twins edge Tribe, 10-7
It was a rocky roller coaster ride that left your head spinning. A very winnable series turned sour Sunday, as Indians starters continue to struggle early on in 2014. Carrasco struggles, Indians fall to Twins, 7-3
He may have had an option, but he may not be the best option. Five runs on five hits through the first three innings Saturday proved more than enough for the Twins against Tribe starter Carlos Carrasco (0-1, 6.35 ERA), as Minnesota cruised to an easy 7-3 victory Saturday afternoon. Indians rally to defeat Twins on Opening Day, 7-2
There's no place like home. Back at Progressive Field for the first time in over six months, the Indians wouldn't let a few raindrops get in the way of Cleveland's most unofficial holiday. Down 2-0 in the bottom half of the sixth, the Tribe outscored Minnesota 7-0 over the final four frames, defeating the Twins, 7-2. Padres edge Indians 9-8 in Cactus League finale
All good things must come to an end. After a great spring, the Indians dropped their final Cactus League game Saturday to San Diego, 9-8. Tribe outfielder Matt Carson belted a pair of homers, but the offense could not overcome a shaky outing by Danny Salazar. The right-handed phenom went just four innings allowing five runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out five. IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz shares his thoughts and recaps the action.

Kluber bounces back; Indians edge D-Backs, 3-2
It couldn't have been a better spring year in the City of Goodyear. The Indians offense wasted little time in their final ballgame in Arizona Thursday afternoon, jumping out to an early lead. That would be all the run support Tribe starter Corey Kluber would need, as the right-hander shutout the Diamondbacks with six innings of scoreless baseball surrendering just three hits. Join Jim Berdysz as he recaps the action.

Carrasco and the long ball lead Indians past Reds, 8-3
Hall of Fame manager Earl Weaver once said, "The key to winning baseball games is pitching, fundamentals and three-run homers." The Indians had a little bit of everything working for them Monday in the rubber-match against the Cincinnati Reds. Solid starting pitching, sound defense and three home runs lead the Tribe past Cincy, 8-3. Join Jim Berdysz as he recaps the action from Monday's contest.

Carrasco struggles as Tribe falls to Oakland, 13-3
It was a tale of the good, the bad and the ugly Wednesday afternoon at Goodyear Ballpark. Things looked good early on for the Tribe, as Indians hitters jumped to a three run lead through the first four innings against Oakland. Despite a fast start, that would be all the scoring for the Wahoo's in this one, as the Athletics outscored the Tribe 13-0 over the final five frames to pickup an easy 13-3 win. After yielding five earned runs in the ballgame, could Carlos Carrasco now be on the outside looking in for the final spot in the Cleveland rotation? IBI Tribe beat reporter Jim Berdysz shares his thoughts and recaps the action.
