Salazar solid, but Tribe falls to Orioles, 4-1 in series finale
Solid starting pitching and a lack of offense is far from a recipe for success. That was exactly the case for the Indians in the series finale with Baltimore Sunday. Managing just one run on two hits, the Tribe fell to the Orioles, 4-1 to close out a five game home stand. Join IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz as he recaps a frustrating loss from the ballpark.

Carrasco, Indians hitters blank Orioles, 6-0

Indians split doubleheader with D-Backs
The Indians played two games Wednesday, but it's the first one they will want to remember. Just like the roller coaster of a season it's been, a twin bill with Arizona started sweet but would end sour. When the dust settled after 21 innings of play, the Tribe and D-Backs split a doubleheader on one swing of the bat from each ball club. On a 3-2 pitch from Texas rookie Phil Klein in the bottom of the 12th, Michael Brantley lined a walk-off solo homer into the visitors bullpen to give the Indians a 4-3 victory Sunday. Jim Thome officially retires as a Cleveland Indian
Not even Jim Thome envisioned a day like this. For him, being immortalized at the top of Indians record books and among some of the game's greats was an accomplishment already. House leads Indians to shutout Rangers, 2-0
Two runs on five hits. Talk about a unique way for the current Indians team to honor Jim Thome's No. 25. Well, maybe not exactly, but that would be all the runs and hits the Tribe offense needed Saturday. A two run sixth inning was enough for Cleveland to shutout the Rangers, 2-0 to win their second straight against Texas. McAllister inconsistent again; Mariners edge Indians late, 6-5
As teams bolstered their rosters across the country Thursday, the Indians were busy subtracting players from their big league team, not adding them. It showed on the field in the rubber match with Seattle. Leading Seattle 5-4 in the eighth, right-hander Bryan Shaw served up what became the game-winning homer to Mariners catcher Mike Zunino, as the Mariners edged Cleveland, 6-5. Kluber hurls complete game shutout; Indians blank Seattle, 2-0
The Indians traded their ace out of town Wednesday, but it was the Tribe's true ace they held hidden up their sleeve. Corey Kluber is that true ace, and he was paired up against the game's best king in the Mariners starter Felix Hernandez. Even in this poker game, the ace defeated the king and took home the jackpot, as Cleveland blanked Seattle, 2-0 on Kluber's complete game shutout. Back at Progressive Field Tuesday for the first time in over two weeks, the Mariners took down the Tribe, 5-2, in what became Trevor Bauer's worst start of the season. The Tribe catcher launched a go-ahead two-run homer just over the wall in right field to give the Indians both the lead and win, edging the White Sox, 3-2.
