Fishing For Mudcats: "I expect nothing, and got it"
The Mudcats entered week #19 at a pivotal point. The team was certainly not in contention for a playoff spot, but if they wanted to be more than just a waystation for prospects, they needed to move now. Instead, they played .500 baseball again, wasting perhaps the biggest week for any Mudcats player offensively during the entire season. The Muddies also bid adieu to Jesus Aguilar, who is heading to greener pastures...Let's Get Fishing...

Fishing with Mudcats: "We'll drive backwards"
The Carolina Mudcats are at that point in the season in which they either make their move, or fall back into the pack for good. Based upon this week of baseball, things just aren't looking good. After a two week hiatus, Fishing with Mudcats returns for a two-parter to get you all caught up with the Carolina League. Today is part one...and tomorrow we'll complete the cycle heading into next week.

The Indians system never sleeps, even when the big league club does. Ronny Rodriguez continued to show off his power with a mammoth blast in the Carolina League last night. Tyler Holt is beginning to heat up in Akron, as the Aeros push towards the playoffs. T.J. McFarland's topsy-turvy Triple A run continued with a solid performance for the Clippers. At the top of the ATF mountain is a guy who has eight hits in his last two ballgames, and no, it's not Dorssys Paulino (he only has 6). Find out who, after the jump...

Columbus breaks four-game losing streak, 7-1
Columbus had both its pitching and hitting in rhythm Thursday night, and a victory against the Durham Bulls was the end result. The Clippers, after losing the first two games of their series with the Bulls, defeated Durham, 7-1, at Huntington Park Thursday. The Clippers were riding a four-game losing streak heading into Thursday night's contest.

It was a big night for Tribe prospects, as Dorssys Paulino continued his barrage in the rookie league with another multi-hit game. Mitch Brown showcased his top-of-the-rotation talent as well. T.J. House continued his break-out party, and Cord Phelps showed off why many think he's a major league caliber player. At the top of the list is a catcher who many think is a sleeper in the system, who hit the game winner in Mahoning. Find out who...after the jump...

Corner of Carnegie and Ontario: Pronkified, one last time...
Pronk is heading to an all-to-familiar place...the DL, and it's likely his last trip there as a member of the Cleveland Indians. Which Pronk will you remember? Is it the pre-30 Pronk that was sure to destroy the Indians' home run record, or was it the post 30 pronk that spent most of his day iced up? Whichever side of the coin you land on, it's not hard to forget the many big moments. With that said, it's clearly time for Pronk to say goodbye to the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario.

The Indians system was full of off nights and rainouts, but the lower minors had a chance to shine, as the Carolina Mudcats and the AZLIndians showcased several of the Indians top prospects doing their thing. Giovanny Urshela continued his hit streak, while Dwight Childs rolled out three hits of his own. Dorssys Paulino had another four-hit game, while the guy at the top slot also made his mark as a future shortstop in the system. Find out who, after the jump...

Tony Wolters continues to have the type of season post-April that the Indians were hoping that he'd have, hitting .298, which is tops for the Mudcats over that stretch. Lake County had about 200 players roll out multi-hit games on Sunday, in a who's who of the most talented team in the system. At the top of ATF is a guy I've been high on all season...and the bandwagon is about to fill up...after the jump...

Dillon Howard took to the mound, inducing 13 ground ball outs in a six-inning performance. Bryce Stowell and Rafael Perez returned on the relief front, for one inning of work each. Tony Wolters and Giovanny Urshela continued their hitting streaks, while the Sabour-tooth Tiger rolled out another two-hit performance. Logan Vick made an appearance in the top three, along with a couple of other guys that just don't get any respect...find out who, after the jump...

2012 Third-Round draft pick Kieran Lovegrove enjoyed his first stellar outing in tonight's Around the Farm, after starting off the season as a struggling 17-year old. Nelson Rodriguez legged out his second triple of the season, while Joe Wendle continued to own the New York/Penn League. Jordan Henry is returning to form, while Gregorio Petit is in rare form. ATF's top slots go to a returning Indians' starter, and a returning Indians' prospect...after the jump...

It was a big night for prospects in the Indians system, perhaps in celebration of the Indians ending their eleven-game hit streak. Felix Sterling rolled out seven K's in four innings of relief in Arizona. Giovanny Urshela rolled out three extra base hits in his second three-hit performance in as many nights. Roberto Perez and Paulo Espino led the Aeros to another win. The top of the ATF heap?...is a guy that could be in Cleveland...well...today...after the jump...

While the big league Indians are as painful to watch as the old Sylvester Stallone/Dolly Parton flick, Rhinestone right now (maybe more painful), the minor league system continues to showcase an abundance of talent. Is Scott Barnes the next great lefty reliever? Is Tony Wolters a top ten prospect? Can Ronny Rodriguez hit 20 home runs in a season? Check out who climbed the ATF mountain on Tuesday night, after the jump...

It definitely wasn't a showcase night for the Tribe organization, with Akron and Carolina off, and Columbus and Mahoning Valley swinging wet noodles. Lake County managed to walk-off with a win, with Jose Ramirez keeping his average near .350 on the year, and Bryson Myles starting to regain his prospect footing after injuries threatened to derail him earlier this year. The AZL Indians continued to rake, but the top spot in ATF goes to Mr. Walk-Off himself. Find out who that is, after the jump...

Dillon Howard had a decent outing on the night, and while it wasn't stellar, it was better than his mostly drab outings so far in 2012. Roberto Hernandez struck out nine against only one walk, but gave up four home runs. Jerrud Sabourin racked up another two-hit ballgame, and Jordan Smith hit his sixth homer on the season. Check out Sunday's ATF for the rest of the Tribe headliners...

Tribe Happenings: COLLAPSE
The Indians beat Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers on July 26th in their most stirring victory of the season. It gave them a 7-3 record against the Tigers, and gave them the springboard to start their first major win streak of the season. Of course, they then lost eight in a row. Join us, won't you, as we dive right into the Indians collapse, 2012 style. Don't worry, we talk about some good in there too...

Lake County blows big lead in 7-6 loss
The Lake County Captains jumped out to an early lead over the South Bend Silver Hawks and could not hold on as the bullpen gave up the winning run in the ninth inning. The Captains fell to the Silver Hawks 7-6.

The AZL Indians are loaded for bear with offense right now, and while the league is clearly skewed in that direction, there are several interesting prospects that lit it up on Saturday Night. Second baseman Claudio Bautista led the way for the Indians with his best game this season so far. Leading ATF is a 2012 pick who had his first multi-hit ball-game. Find out who, after the jump...

Corner of Carnegie and Ontario:The Road Not Taken
Chris Antonetti threw up the white flag on the 2012 season this past Tuesday when they failed to make any moves leading up to the trade deadline. While many consider this to be a smart play, it goes directly against the move made during last season's trade deadline. Are the Indians taking the correct path? Join Jim Pete at the Corner of Carnegie for his look at the Indians' crossroads...

Damon designated...
The Cleveland Indians designated Johnny Damon for assignment today, ended a fairly controversial tenure that forced the former all-star outfielder into the field after two seasons in the DH-role. To say it was even a moderate success would be the overstatement of the millennium, and that's definitively not hyperbole. Good luck to you Johnny Damon in your quest to latch on to a playoff contender.

Jose Ramirez had a perfect night at the plate, and Francisco Lindor had another three-hit ball game. Mike Rayl showcased a solid outing, and Jacob Lee looked solid in another outing. Tonight's top of the heat belongs to another starter that seems to find his way here on occasion, even though he's not even close to the top talent with regards to starters. Tonight, there was no one better. Find out who, after the jump...
