Minor Happenings: Sulser may be older, but he can pitch
The minor league season is over, but there is still a lot to wrap up. In today’s piece Tony looks at the sensational pro debut for short season Single-A Mahoning Valley right-hander Cole Sulser and his prospect future, looks at the exceptional season that Low-A Lake County outfielder LeVon Washington had at the plate, the amazing consistency of High-A Carolina outfielder Jordan Smith and what kind of prospect he truly is, and tons of comments from Triple-A Columbus pitching coach Tony Arnold on several of his pitchers such as Trevor Bauer, T.J. Indians add five to roster, DFA Fedroff and Diaz
The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have added Preston Guilmet, Nick Hagadone, Blake Wood, Jose Ramirez and Kelly Shoppach to the roster, and have also DFAed Juan Diaz and Tim Fedroff.

Carrasco optioned to Columbus, Cooper opts out
The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have added outfielder Jason Kubel to the to the major league roster. To make room for him on the 25-man roster they have optioned right-handed pitcher Carlos Carrasco to Triple-A Columbus. Also, David Cooper has opted out of his minor league contract with the Indians.

Around the Farm: August 30, 2013
It was a big night for Jose Ramirez. Not with the bat, but the news that he will be added to the 40-man roster and be called up to Cleveland on Sunday when rosters expand. Tony chimes in on the callup and who may be coming off the roster to make room for him, and he also opines on the other performances throughout the organization on the night.

Indians sign Kelly Shoppach to minor league deal
The Cleveland Indians today signed free agent catcher Kelly Shoppach to a minor league contract and assigned him to the Triple-A Columbus roster.

Indians release Brett Myers
The Brett Myers era in Cleveland is officially over. On Thursday afternoon the club announced that they activated the right-hander from the 60-day disabled list and released him from his contract.

Raburn placed on DL, Carson promoted to Cleveland
The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have placed outfielder Ryan Raburn on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left Achilles tendon (retroactive to August 19th). To fill his roster spot they have purchased the contract of outfielder Matt Carson from Triple-A Columbus.

2013 Instructional League roster and schedule
The 2013 Fall Instructional League gets underway shortly out in Goodyear, Arizona. Over a span of a month around 50 players will participate in weight training and conditioning drills, on-field instruction, and play in 14 games until it wraps up on Monday October 14th. Tony has the details on what players are going out there and the schedule for the four week period. Breaking down the September callup options for the Indians
The Indians players enjoyed a much needed off day on Monday, but the organization was still hard at work in the offices at Progressive Field and on site at Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus evaluating September callup options for the stretch run. Indians participants named for Arizona Fall League
On Tuesday the Indians announced that four position players have been named to the Arizona Fall League. Outfielder Tyler Naquin, second baseman Joey Wendle, catcher Jake Lowery and infielder/catcher Tony Wolters were all named to the team.
