2012 Indians 30th round pick: SS Josh Lester

In the 30th round of the 2012 MLB Draft the Cleveland Indians have selected shortstop Josh Lester out of Columbus High School (GA).
Date of birth: 7/17/1994 - Height: 6’0” - Weight: 189 - Bats: Left - Throws: Left
Quick take: I’m not sure if it is a typo, but he is listed as throwing left-handed. If true, that is pretty unique at shortstop as you typically do not see that.
Jeff Ellis: Josh Lester is a big middle infielder from Georgia, and was a member of the Georgia team which won the 2006 Little League world series. He has grown four inches over the course of high school, which means that if he keeps growing his future might be at third base. He is committed to the University of Missouri. He dealt with injuries this year which hurt his draft stock, but before the injuries he had added 15-20 pounds to his frame in the hope of adding more power. He was originally committed to a JUCO school, which often happens when a player wants to sign and start their Major League career since they would remain draft eligible the next year, so there is a small chance the Indians might be able to convince Lester to sign.
