Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his thoughts on the victory.

Corey Kluber took his deadpan routine to New York on Saturday, and despite a brief injury scare in the fourth inning, all would appear to be well with the Cleveland ace. With scoring from Jose Ramirez hit the first home run of his career, a short two-run blast, and Michael Brantley adding an insurance run in the Eighth, it was Corey Kluber who monopolized the spotlight. The IBI's John Grimm looks back, not only on Corey Kluber's season, but attempting to situate Kluber's season in Indians history.

The story really has not changed much for Moncrief this season, as after a rough first two months from an overall performance standpoint, the 25-year-old has started getting better results without fixing his plate discipline. That still remains true, as evidenced by Moncrief's performance Saturday night. Join Jim Piascik as he breaks down Moncrief's season and the action throughout the minor league system as he takes you Around the Farm.

Several new players from the recently completed MLB Draft are started to settle into the Indians minor league system. One of those players is right-handed pitcher Jordan Carter who was selected by the Indians in the 22nd round out of St. Joseph’s University (PA) and signed just a few days after the draft. Tony Lastoria recently spoke to Carter about his debut and the transition to professional ball.

While the 10-6 score suggests a baseball game that was an offensive explosion, Friday's contest was a game that was neither nearly as close as it looked nor one driven predominantly by offense. While Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer's control was far from pristine, the Cleveland defense defined the night, making two critical errors and setting the tone for Cleveland early. The IBI's John Grimm gives a year-to-date review of the Cleveland defense and the ignoble history they approach.

Cody Anderson put together a pretty good comeback performance Friday night, returning to the mound and putting up four perfect innings. Up in Columbus, Giovanny Urshela was not on the comeback trail, but he was continuing to put up big stats in his breakout season. Join Jim Piascik as he recaps Anderson and Urshela's nights and the rest of the action in the organization as he takes you Around the Farm.

One would think we would know how this song and dance goes by now with the Indians here in 2014. James Ramsey did not get off to the best start in his Cleveland career, but he did his best to erase those first five games Thursday night. Meanwhile, farther south, Logan Vick continued his Carolina renaissance as he keeps benefiting from some good fortune after some wretched BABIP luck earlier in the season. Finally, even farther south and out to the west, Sicnarf Loopstok did his best to force a season's worth of performance into two games. Join Jim Piascik as he recaps all this and much more as he takes you Around the Farm.

The Lake County Captains' offense appeared to go missing last week. Luckily, the team received a few solid pitching performances, particularly from Mitch Brown - though the team posted a 3-4 record for the week. The final full month of the season has arrived, but the Captains are slipping from contention for a second-half playoff spot. The IBI's Stephanie Metzger provides the week in review for the Captains....

The Indians fell to the Reds 8-3 on Wednesday night. Danny Salazar struggled with the home run ball and was promptly optioned out to Columbus after the game. Jason Kipnis and Yan Gomes had good games, but nothing else really went right for the Indians. The IBI's Michael Goodman provides his second thoughts on Salazar's outing, the possibility of Carlos Carrasco moving into the rotation and more...

No matter how many times it is said, patience is really the name of the game when it comes to prospects. Even when it comes to a second round pick like Mitch Brown, jumping ship after fewer than two full professional seasons makes no sense. Brown may not be a finished product, but most prospects are not; otherwise they would be in the major leagues. Prospects in Brown's position are looking for growth and he has definitely shown that this year. Join Jim Piascik as he recaps Brown's dominant outing, LeVon Washington's offensive outburst, and much more as he takes you Around the Farm.
