The Cleveland Indians have had quite a few very good pitching performances throughout the minor league system this season. One such pitcher who has had a good year is High-A Carolina right-handed starter Adam Plutko. The IBI's Tony Lastoria talked to him earlier in the year and discussed his transition from a successful college career to the pros.

Inconsistency is the only thing that’s been consistent with the Indians this season. Their latest feat has been the offense’s struggles to back a starting pitching staff that has pitched well of late. The IBI's Michael Goodman provides his thoughts on the offensive struggles of late, takes a look at a key upcoming stretch of games in the schedule, and more...

Triple-A Columbus is finishing strong and could be on the verge of clinching a playoff spot by the weekend. One of the keys to their playoff run has been the strong arm of Carlos Moncrief who now has 21 outfield assists on the season. The IBI's Michael Rich recently sat down with him to talk about his success this season both defensively and offensively, and he also runs down the week that was for the Clippers with all the news and notes.

Danny Salazar was actually solid in his return to the rotation from AAA pitching five shutout innings before allowing a pair of baserunners in the sixth, who later scored against Scott Atchison. The unfortunate reality of Sunday's loss was the Indians offense was limited to just one run on two hits, all recorded in the fourth inning. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his thoughts on the loss.

Mitch Brown has been fantastic since the start of the second half of the season. His first half was not that bad, but he has really turned things on in the second half and is finally pitching like the frontline pitching prospect he was expected to be when he was drafted two years ago. The IBI's Arthur Kinney recaps his outing on Sunday along with all of the other action Around the Farm...

Solid starting pitching and a lack of offense is far from a recipe for success. That was exactly the case for the Indians in the series finale with Baltimore Sunday. Managing just one run on two hits, the Tribe fell to the Orioles, 4-1 to close out a five game home stand. Join IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz as he recaps a frustrating loss from the ballpark.

After three straight games decided by only one run, Cleveland's offense took advantage of its opportunities and came out of Saturday's contest with a decisive 6-0 victory over Baltimore. Powered by timely Santana and Brantley home runs, Cleveland gave more than enough breathing room for Carlos Carrasco, and he delivered with a seven-inning shutout performance over only 79 pitches in his second start since re-joining the rotation. The IBI's John Grimm, typically a proponent of Carrasco, briefly takes the opposite tact, and presents limited arguments against Carrasco's continuing excellence as a starter.

Ubaldo Jimenez was greeted well by his former club in his return trip to Progressive Field. The Orioles starter wouldn't even escape the fifth inning. Tribe hitters embraced Jimenez scoring six earned runs on five hits against him in just 4 1/3 innings Saturday, leading to an easy 6-0 shutout. Join IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz as he recaps another win from the ballpark.

The Indians have had a very good track record in finding under-the-radar talent and developing it into productive assets for their team. Could Duke von Schamann be the next in that line of talent? Join the IBI's Jake Dungan for an in-depth analysis and conversation with the Akron RubberDucks right-hander as he discusses his experience with the Tribe so far, his success this season and the influence of his father.

It took eleven innings, but Cleveland prevailed over Baltimore 2-1 through solo home runs by Zach Walters and Mike Aviles, and through the fiendishly effective Corey Kluber, whose season has vaulted him into entirely largely unprecedented territory within Indians history. The IBI's John Grimm takes Kluber's 2014 performance and, using more traditional metrics, draws implications that could make even the stoic Kluber blush.

This weekly feature piece here at the IBI specifically looks at some of the prospects that have maybe not had as much attention they deserve for a variety of reasons but who are interesting or are coming onto the scene.
