It was a day for smiles in the Indians series finale with Kansas City Thursday afternoon. And yes, even for Corey Kluber (2-2, 3.90 ERA), who had himself a career day on the mound in his fifth start. Tossing his first big league complete game victory, the right-hander led the Tribe past the Royals, 5-1 to win the four-game series. The arrival of first-rounder Clint Frazier highlighted the Captains’ week, though the team’s winning woes remained. They posted a 1-5 record last week as they managed to avoid a home sweep by the Burlington Bees, but their trip up north to Lansing, Mich. didn’t end well. This past week, the Carolina Mudcats have played a lot of baseball competing in two doubleheaders and an extra inning game. The Mudcats were able to win four out of seven games, sweeping the Salem Red Sox in a doubleheader last Wednesday and taking two out of four against the Frederick Keys. Today we unveil a new exciting project here at the IBI. We are producing a new weekly TV show on the web called "IBI on Site" that will be hosted by Hayden Grove and have several guests on the show. The IBI's Tony Lastoria will be on the show regularly and it will also feature on-air interviews with players and coaches at different affiliates in the Indians organization.

After finally coming through with a big hit and a victory against the Blue Jays on Easter Sunday, the Indians welcomed the Royals to town for four contests. They quite literally tried to throw the game away time and time again, but slugged the ball well enough to overcome that, winning 4-3.
