Home run power push Tribe past Royals, 4-3
Any game can get a little nutty. The Indians (9-10) used the long ball and a bushy-tailed friend to push past division rival Kansas City Royals Monday, holding onto a 4-3 victory. Second Thoughts Game #18: Blue Jays 4, Indians 6
The Indians have been in a kind of funk where they needed a game where almost everything clicked to help them relax and breathe easier. On Sunday, the pitching still had some issues, but the offense worked pitch counts, drew walks, got on base and, most importantly, didn't try to do too much with runners in scoring position. Murphy lifts Tribe over Blue Jays on Easter, 6-4
Like the day itself, Sunday could be the day that resurrected the Indians season. Trailing the Blue Jays 4-2 in the sixth, David Murphy lifted the Tribe past Toronto with a bases clearing three-run double, as the team held on win, 6-4. Backed by the arm of four-time All-Star Mark Buehrle, Toronto shutout the Tribe for the first time this season, 5-0, to take the first two games of the three game series. Small town country boy Merritt looking to make it big with Indians
Ryan Merritt may be a self-described “country boy” from a small town in Texas, but the talented left-hander has made a name for himself and now hopes to make it all the way to the big city of Cleveland. He is one of the Indians better young pitching prospects, and the IBI's Daniel Kale had a chance to sit down with him recently and get his thoughts on his career to date and where things go from here.
