Lopez leads Clippers to big victory
Playing in a Columbus uniform for the first time this season, Clippers’ third baseman Jose Lopez led his new team to a win Sunday.
Lopez went 4-for-5 with three doubles and three RBIs in his debut, as the Clippers (16-13) beat the first-place Toledo Mud Hens (18-11), 8-1, to get within two games of the IL West division leader.

Columbus drops close game to Toledo
The Columbus Clippers started their ten game road trip Saturday losing a tight one, 2-1, to the Toledo Mud Hens. The Clippers started Corey Kluber (3-2) on the mound, as the Mud Hens countered with Andrew Oliver (2-1). Toledo struck first in this one, as in the bottom of the first inning after the bases were loaded. DH Brad Eldred walked, allowing center fielder Quintin Berry to cross the plate.

Columbus pounds out 12-8 win
Timely hitting and a few errant throws propelled the Columbus Clippers to their second win in a row Thursday night. The Clippers (15-12) topped the Gwinnett Braves, 12-8, in front of 7,708 fans at Huntington Park. Gwinnett made four errors—three of which were throwing—and Columbus went 8-for-13 with runners in scoring position on way to victory.

Columbus splits a pair on Wednesday
COLUMBUS - An unusual night of baseball at Huntington Park in Columbus Wednesday resulted in the Clippers and Gwinnett Braves splitting two games.
Columbus (14-12) beat the Braves, 3-2, in a seven-inning contest after the two clubs finished a game that was postponed due to rain on Tuesday. Gwinnett won the early game, which started in the top of the fourth inning Wednesday, 7-4.

Minor Happenings: Injuries continue to pile up
A month into the season the injuries are starting to mount up for the young Indians. Tony has a big update on those players down for some time or just nicked up, including LeVon Washington, Lonnie Chisenhall, Bryce Stowell, Scott Barnes, Hector Rondon and many others. In addition to the injuries, Tony also discusses several other players in the organization such as Steven Wright, Will Roberts, David Huff, Shawn Armstrong, T.J. McFarland, Matt LaPorta, Jeremie Tice and Jeff Johnson.

Clippers can't take sweep in 6-4 loss
In the final game of the four-game series between the Columbus Clippers and the Pawtucket Redsox, the Redsox avoided the four-game sweek, 6-4. It would have been the Redsox first 4- game sweep in just under two years. The Clippers went into Monday’s night game looking to accomplish their first sweep of the 2012 campaign.

Clippers use late-inning rally to beat Pawtucket
Solid pitching and late-inning hitting propelled the Columbus Clippers to their third win in a row Sunday afternoon. The Clippers (13-10), rallied from a 2-0 deficit through five innings to beat the Pawtucket Red Sox (15-9), 3-2, in front of 7,463 fans at Huntington Park. Errors by the Columbus defense gave Pawtucket an early lead, but a mistake by the Red Sox defense in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Clippers the game-winning run.

Columbus wins with eighth-inning rally
COLUMBUS—In a game that pitted one of the International League’s best offenses against one of Triple-A’s top pitchers, the former prevailed. Barely.The Columbus Clippers (12-10) rallied to beat the Pawtucket Red Sox (15-8), 6-4, on Saturday in front of 6,191 fans on a chilly night at Huntington Park.

McAllister, Clippers stop losing steak
The Columbus Clippers continued their ten game home stand on Friday night and squared off against the Pawtucket Red Sox, who are sitting atop the IL North standings. The Clippers beat the Red Sox 4-1 to avoid their first five game losing streak since 2010. Clippers pitcher Zach McAllister picked up his second win of the season after throwing seven strong innings and only giving up one earned run. “He had a lot of life on his fastball, and was able to get on top of his pitches,” Clippers' manager Mike Sarbaugh said after the game.

Clippers drop 4th straight game, 6-4
The Clippers lost their fourth straight game as they dropped a 6-2 afternoon contest to the Toledo Mud Hens. The Mud Hens would jump out to an early 1-0 lead on a Danny Worth two out RBI double down the right field line. The Clippers would come right back and tie it at 1-1 when Matt LaPorta drove in Lonnie Chisenhall with an RBI single to left field. Columbus would take the lead in the bottom half of the third. Carrera, Cord Phelps, and Chisenhall all singled to load the bases with one out.

IPI Stock Watch: April 25, 2012
Time to unveil a new weekly premium feature on the IPI, the "Stock Watch". In this weekly report, four to six players at each level in the Indians system will be graded on their currently standing (stock) in the organization and whether their stock is way up, trending up, neutral, trending down, or way down. Insight gained from scouts and evaluators will be used in this report.

Clippers pitching banged around in 12-8 loss
Tuesday night’s contest between the Columbus Clippers and Toledo Mud Hens might as well have been a home-run derby, and the Clippers didn’t have enough power to compete. The Mud Hens (13-6), remained atop the West Division of the International League, beating the Clippers (10-9), 12-8, in front of 5,703 fans at Huntington Park in Columbus. The two teams combined for seven homers—five of which were by Toledo, and three from Mud Hens’ first baseman Brad Eldred—in an offensive showcase that also produced 28 hits.
