Clippers fall apart late, lose 9-7
For the first seven innings on Wednesday night, it looked like a sure blowout victory for the Columbus Clippers (64-61). Their starting pitcher was dominating, and their offense was putting on a performance that Huntington Park hadn’t seen in a couple weeks. Then in one inning, the floor fell out from underneath their feet.

Fedroff waits patiently for a big league opportunity
Triple-A Columbus outfielder Tim Fedroff is once again having another banner season in the Indians' system. Has he done enough to get noticed and will he get an opportunity in the big leagues before the end of this season? Time will tell. Bulls run down Clippers, 6-3
It was a quick, quiet night for the Columbus Clippers (64-60) on Tuesday night as they fell to the Durham Bulls (58-67) by a final score of 6-3. Both offenses were able to do some damage early. The Clippers struck in the first inning on an RBI double into deep left by right fielder Vinny Rottino.

Another week is in the boos for the Indians' Triple-A affiliate the Columbus Clippers, and they are still hanging around in the International League wildcard race. The Columbus Clippers were unable to overcome an early deficit on Sunday night and fell to the division-leading Indianapolis Indians by a final score of 5-4.

Lack of offense lead to Clippers 9-2 demise
Columbus fell to the Indianapolis Indians, 4-0, in game two of its series against the International League West Division leaders. The Clippers won the series opener and first game of the home stand, 5-1, on Friday night. Columbus has five more games on its seven-game stand at Huntington Park.

Clippers start home stand with 5-1 win
The Columbus Clippers returned home to Huntington Park Friday night after a lengthy road trip and started off their home stand with a win. Columbus defeated the Indianapolis Indians, 5-1, to open a four-game set against the International League’s best team.

After a stretch of great defensive performances, the Columbus Clippers (63-57) struggled on both sides of the ball on Thursday night as they fell to the Durham Bulls (57-63) by a final score of 12-2.

Minor Happenings: Wolters' turnaround has been amazing
There are lots of good things happening in the Indians minor league system and this week Tony touches on the hot pitching of late from Jeanmar Gomez and the incredible turnaround by Tony Wolters, has all sorts of comments from the Indians Player Development staff on players at Mahoning Valley, provides injury updates on several players like Tyler Naquin and LeVon Washington, and lots of stuff on Cord Phelps, Paolo Espino, Todd Hankins, Jerrud Sabourin, Jacob Lee, Nelson Rodriguez and more!

Gomez, Clippers shut out the Bulls
The Columbus Clippers (63-56) continued their streak of defensive battles on Wednesday night as they defeated the Durham Bulls (56-63) by a final score of 3-0. It marked the third time in the last six games that the Clippers have shut out their opponent.

Columbus beats Durham 2-1 in extras
The Clippers struggled at the plate for the fourth-straight game Tuesday, but behind a solid effort on the mound and some clutch hitting, Columbus scathed by the Bulls on way to a victory. Columbus beat Durham, 2-1, in extra innings, to take game two of the four game series in North Carolina.

Clippers fall to Durham in rain shortened game
Poor weather caused the game between Columbus and Durham to get called early, but the Clippers weren’t playing well enough to win or mount a comeback anyway. Columbus fell to the Durham Bulls, 4-1, in North Carolina in a shortened seven-inning contest that had three rain delays.

Sailing with the Clippers: 7/30/12 to 8/05/12
After ending the last full week of July on a tear, the Clippers limped into August and didn’t get much better as the first week of the month went on. Columbus went 13-3 the last two full weeks of July, the hottest the team has been all season long. The Clippers then took a turn for the worse this week, going 2-4. Andrew Holleran talks about it all in his weekly notebook...
