Captains win in walkoff fashion, 2-1
It took 11 innings on Monday night, but the Captains (22-22) finally broke through against the first-place Lansing Lugnuts (31-13), winning by a score of 2-1. In the bottom of the 11th inning, Lake County only hit one ball out of the infield. That play also resulted in their only out of the inning, a lineout to left field by shortstop Francisco Lindor.

The Lake County Captains fell by a count of 2-1 to the first-place Lansing Lugnuts in front of an over-capacity crowd of 8,245 on fireworks night Saturday at Classic Park. Lake County could not break through with the clutch hit against Lansing pitching. Lindor returns with a bang
Welcome back Francisco Lindor. After missing five games for a family emergency, Lindor, playing shortstop, returned to action for the Lake County Captains (18-19) in a big way against the Great Lakes Loons (20-18). The Captains emerged victorious 6-3 behind five RBI from Lindor. Lindor finished the night 2-4, belting his fourth home run of the season, a three-run shot. He followed that up with a two-RBI single to give him five RBI on the day and 17 on the season.
