I'm not a big Sipp fan but if he is included I like this deal less. Still though....Bauer and Stubbs is a nice haul. Anderson? Is that Chase Anderson of the D'backs? Or Lars Anderson of the Indians? Which team would really want/need Lars Anderson??

Cody Anderson - RHSP ??? from the Tribe big time arm JUCO signing converted to SP last yr. hate to lose him but Bauer is big time landing and the Tribe kept ACab very good deal.

So it would be 1 yr of Choo, an unneeded UIF, an unreliable LHRP, & a Norwegian corpse for Stubbs & Bauer? Where's the applause smilie?

I'm hoping its Lars Anderson would be a move from the Tribes surplus of 1b. The Dbax had recently traded Ryan Wheeler -1b to Rockies so it could be.

I'm hoping the tribe does what it takes (add a pen arm or prospects) to land either Bauer (instead) or both Bauer and Corbin.
Any of the 3. I know he's not a huge get, but I like Ryan Sweeney as a low cost stop gap or platoon type. I like him along with any of those 3
I'm sure some saw but apparently the Cubs and Phillies discussed Dominic Brown for Alfonso Soriano. Tribe doesn't have a bat like Soriano to move but the fact that it's being reported the Phillies thought about it suggests it may not be hard to get Brown from them. He's had his struggles but think he could be a nice change of scenery guy. If they end up getting Swisher, Hamilton or Ross, they may feel inclined to move Brown??

I LOVE this deal. The Indians were able to keep Cabrera, got Bauer and Stubbs, plus still two more prospects who aren't sloutches. And all we gave up was Choo, Lars, Sipp, Donald. I will gladly take that. Now if we can sign Swisher... what an off-season!

Shaw and Albers aren't prospects but could be nice pieces to the pen. Gotta wonder how much info Francona was feeding CA on Albers (pitched for Francona for a few years in Boston). Shaw has a nice arm. Kinda surprised we moved Sipp and got 2 righties. Let more speculation begin...adding pieces for a possible CP, Pestano, or Smith deal?
Agree though, very good deal. Obviously Bauer can't bust as he's still got some big risk with him but if he pitches anywhere near his ceiling this could be a huge, huge deal. And if we could add Swisher to replace Choo? wow...

Love it for the Indians. Will have to read up on Bryan Shaw but he had a solid season for the DBacks but we all know the real get here, Bauer.
Have to wonder if the Indians have more moves in play with their bullpen.

I want to see Swisher in Cleveland now and I'll be happy. I don't think Pestano is going anywhere, but wouldn't be surprised to see Smith/CP traded. Don't even rule out Cabrera being traded at some point somewhere else.

Just think Lars Anderson probably wasn't far from getting DFA truth be told. I love this deal for the Tribe.
Who makes up the 2013 bullpen?
Perez
Pestano
Allen
Smith
Albers
Shaw
Barnes
Hagadone
That's some tremendous depth for the Tribe to work with. GOOD JOB by CA and company!

Here's BA's take from their 2011 book (was AZ's 27th ranked spec), obviously a little old but here it is:
"His 90-94 mph fastball has plus movement and sink. His curveball has the potential to be a plus pitch, and he throws a good slider with cut action." Liked how his stuff played up in the pen (typical starter to reliever stuff mostly). Was 2nd round pick in 2008 and closed for LBSU.

Not necessarily. If the Indians can sign Swisher or even another bat, we'll be okay. We didn't have to give up Cabrera. We got an ace in return. Plus... Choo was only staying one more year anyway.

I know all the trade talk was boring to some... As a number of us speculated crazy things like the Tribe landing a FOR arm like for Choo.
Tremendous deal for the Tribe. They added a talented potential FOR starter in Trevor Bauer, two nice pen arms in Albers and Shaw and added Drew Stubbs to the OF.
I think we might be able to even forgive CA for trading Steven Wright, well unless he becomes the next great story and wins a Cy Young - as we know anything can happen.
The Tribe could still move ACab for pitching or even for an OF. How about ACab for Cespedes anyone?

I don't think Pestano is going anywhere either, but never say never. Didn't think we'd get Bauer without moving Cabrera so maybe a team would give up soemthing crazy for VP. Definitely think a guy like CP is more likely to be dealt though salary could be restrictive.
A lineup to ponder...
1. Brantley - LF
2. Swisher - RF
3. Cabrera - SS
4. Santana - C
5. Kipnis - 2B
6. Reynolds - 1B
7. Chisenhall - 3B
8. Stubbs - CF
9. Canzler/McGuiness - DH
Not a bad looking lineup....
