RHP Cole Pitts (6-6/220, Moultrie, GA, signed with Georgia Tech) of the Middle Georgia Titans threw a gem Tuesday, shutting out the St. Johns Heat on 2 hits while striking out 11 hitters. Pitts, who the Cleveland Indians drafted in the 32nd round in June, pitched between 87 and 91 mph. His best off speed pitch was a very nice change up in the 76-78 mph range, although he'll have to tighten up his curveball for the next level. Based on the pitchers we've seen at this event, Georgia Tech is going to have a very nice pitching staff over the next 3-4 years!

Jamison is committed to Ole Miss from what I can tell. HS Guys committed to college that are 45th round picks seldom sign. If he shows enough maybe the Tribe will step up to the plate. Very similar to CT Bradford (Miss State) last year OF/P the Tribe drafted last year but failed to sign. Bradford won the MVP in this tourny last year.

Dulin's Dodgers advance in a hard fought 2-1 victory. Jamison was the starting pitcher (I like OF that pitch at this level because it means they have arm strength).

Edit: I just report on what I know. It will be up to the FO to decide if they go after Jamison hard.

LHP Will Jamison (2011, Evangelical Chrsitian, Texas) got the start and was sharp over 5 innings, allowing only 3 hits while striking out 2. He showed good command of the strike zone, using a 80-86 fastball that peaked at 87 and a handful of low-70s curveballs. Jamison was selected by the Indians in the 45th round of the draft last month by the Indians, and has committed to play for Ole Miss.
