IPI 2011 Mock Draft...who wants in?

We are gonna do a site mock draft the weekend before the draft. It will post then, likley do the actual mock the Thurs or Fri before it.

What I was hoping to do is have me serve as moderator.....and then get a bunch of you to serve as the teams and make the picks based on who is on the board. Let me know if you are interested. If we get 15 guys, then each guy will get 2 picks in the first round....if we get 10 guys, then each of you get 3 of the teams in the first round, etc. You will draw teams.

That's not a problem at all. I'm off from work every Tuesday. Just an idea but let the guys who can't do evenings Pick early and then the rest who can fill in the remainder.

Some questions and or some suggested ground rules or parameters

1. Money versus Talent: Does "the group" want to use slot value as a parameter for making a pick.. or is this mock all about the talent & not the money? What's the budget?

2. No compensatory sammich picks..?

3. Number of rounds: three?.. ten?... more? less?

Any suggestions would be nice..

First round only. No compension rounds. And whoever makes the pick is making it based on what they think occurs given who is available for that team at the time of the pick. If you think the team has budget concerns or not, include that in your analysis before making the pick.

No ground rules really. You just make the pick based on what you feel happens there when that team comes up.

Ok....Tuesday it is. We have five participants in Andrew, Jellis, HomeAway, Geronimo, and Rocky. Each of you will get 6 of the 30 picks.

What I will do is come up with an order 1-5 to start....and it just keeps rolling over from there. So after #5 then the 6th pick is made by #1 (11th pick by #1) etc.

I think the easiest way to do this is just open a thread on Monday late and then you guys just make the picks so everyone can see. Email or whatever may be too hard to follow.

I'd say let's do Monday night, say like 7pm, to give us more time. That way, if need be, if we need a little more time, we can extend into Tuesday morning.

Ok, I am unsure if we will be able to have a set time when people can all be around for 2-4 hours to make the picks all at once. So maybe we just start this mock with the 1st pick on Sunday or Monday....and over the course of a few days people chime in when they can with their pick. I'd like to post the mock next Saturday just before the draft.

The CWSox don't have anyone like that and it's a HUGE VOID in their system!!
