IPI Site Outing
Just toying with this idea this year to do a site wide outing this coming season. No idea yet on date or details, but brainstorming to gauge interest.
First thing would be to decide which site would be best or most interesting for a game. My first guess is Columbus as it is such a beautiful ballpark and the higher level of guys....but Akron or Lake County may work best as well. Lake County would probaby be the easiest for me to setup something with the team too.
Thoughts?

I would be interested in attending something like this. Columbus is the furthest for me. Akron and Lake County would both be great. If it is easiest for you to set something up with the Captains I would go that route.

I'd be in for sure. C-Bus is also furthest from me, so both Akron and LC would work for me. C-Bus I'd still go, but longer distance.

Re: IPI Site Outing
I'd be interested, although not a sure thing. Akron is definitely easiest for me (I'm south of Canton), but I usually make a couple trips to both Columbus and Lake County anyway... normally Lake County is closer, but I also have family near Columbus, so it might just depend on the date.
It does seem like Columbus will actually have better prospects than Akron this year, so my pref would likely be (1) Akron for personal convenience, (2) Columbus for ballpark and talent, (3) Lake County if that's most convenient for others, since my vote shouldn't count for much anyway.

Sounds like fun, Tony. As far as location, keep in mind we're on the World Wide Web here. What's convenient for some, might not for others. So, why limit it to just one outing? How about a Northern Ohio and Central Ohio get together. After all, we're not throwing a wedding here.
Invite Atkins, (in fact, make him buy a round).

I'm up for it (unless I end up transferred to St. Paul Minnesota).
Any of those 3 sites will work for me.

Would like to do more, but first want to walk before we run on this. So figured maybe we plan an April/May/June outing....and then leave it open for a 2nd in August.
Just throwing the idea out there. I won't do any serious planning for this until the start of the season, but seeing who is interested and checking for ideas.

I'd be in for an outing at any of those sites.
By the way, if there's a 2nd outing in August, how about Mahoning Valley? It would be a good shot for all of us to see the top 2011 draft picks.

If 2010 draft is any indication. most of our 2011 picks won't play for Mahonning Valley this coming season...

Not the very top picks, but if you go late enough, you can see some early round picks.

I think this is a great idea, as long as i am not trotting around the middle east, I am in as well. In my opinion the Indians future is in C-bus so it would be nice to have the outing there.

Re: IPI Site Outing
I'm in for any outing in Akron, and the Clippers vs. Aeros game in Akron on April 3rd (?) looks really cool, though I don't know what day of the week that is and I probably have class that night (!)
But I've never been to Lake County and may be up for that sometime.
I think it's been mentioned already, but is the idea here for just 1 single outing? I'm for the idea of having multiple outings, maybe at least 1 each at Akron/Colum/Lake County, etc based on people's geographic limitations.

Re: IPI Site Outing
Clippers/Indians on Wed March 30th or Clippers/Aeros on Wednesday April 6 may be an option. Though the Clippers/Indians matchup will be hard to get arrangements for a group for obvious reasons.
To appease the needs of several, may have to do on a weekend so people have the time to get back and forth since everyone is not close to one site.
Once I get the book done I will start to hammer this out.

Alas I won't be able to do anything like this. I live in Georgia and my available travel time will be devoted to my step-son and his baseball. 16u summer teams play every weekend and they will be traveling throughout the Southeast.
Now when Columbus comes to Gwinnett at the end of April, I can try to make it there (although I am On-Call at work that week (which means I'll have to trade the pager with a teammate).

It's either Sunday the 3rd or Monday the 4th. I've heard conflicting reports.
The only issue with the Aeros/Clippers game in Columbus is that it is a 2:05 weekday start. People may skip work for the Indians exhibition, but not the Aeros one. Also, it looks like a free open house event, so that may or may not effect the ability to sit together.

Thanks for the reminder. Let's wait until the weather breaks...and we will likely do Lake County. Just easier for me to setup with them as I know everyone there really well and might be able to set some cool things up. Think sometime in June.

Re: IPI Site Outing
Okay, would like to get some feedback.
We can do the site outing one of two ways....just get a block of tickets where each runs about $7 and everyone is up for their own food, etc. Or the other option is renting a suite, where the total cost per person (including ticket, food, beverages) would be about $30-40 depending on how many people come and what food package we get.
Thoughts?

I like the suite option. I feel it gives us more of an opportunity to mingle as group.
That said, I would go with either option.
As for the date range your looking at, I'm good for any date except Friday 8/12 - got Tribe seats for that date.

I'm pretty sure I'm good for any day except the 7th. Seats/suite doesn't bother me as I can't eat at a ballpark this summer (soft diet after dental surgery).

I might be in for any of the weekend dates. I echo MadThinker's thoughts on the suite, but would also be fine with regular seats.

Yeah, the suite thing is something I'd be interested in mainly for the fact we can more easily mingle and "hang out". Plus, by the time you by a couple hot dogs, nachos, and a beer/pop or two, you are close to $30 anyway.

I need to move forward with this as I think I am going to go with the suite option. But in doing that I need to get confirms that you are coming to ensure I get at least 16-20 people. For me the date would have to be one of following:
Saturday August 6th 7pm (Championship lithograph given out, fireworks)
Wednesday August 10th 7pm
You are more than welcome to bring a significant other and family, though you will need to pay of course for each ticket.
Let me know if you are interested in coming as I want to leave this just to the board posters and site staff first before opening it up to the main page/twitter.

I don't want to scratch it off my list just yet, but I'm probably out. While the Saturday game is so far technically possible, it's two days after I get back from watching baseball in DC with some other weirdos I've met over the internet... probably too much going on.

The Sunday game is an option as well, but I thought with it being a night game and the start of a new week coming that Saturday would be more preferred. We can do the Sunday game if that's easier for everyone though.
