Lost
I'm a big fan of Lost. Have watched it religiously since Day 1 and never missed a live episode or did not DVR it.
I absolutely LOVED the season premiere last night. This show has really started to cook after it kind of bottomed out somewhat in the middle of Season 3. Gonna be sad to see this one go.
For those who watch, what's your take on the Jacob/Man In Black thing? Also, going to be interesting to see what this temple is and who those people are (from the Black Rock?). Richard Alpert's story. If Sayid is still Sayid or now Jacob. How these two alternate storylines get hashed or come back as one singular storyline. Etc.

Absolutely LOVE it.
I think Sayid is the new Jacob -- why else would they bring him to the temple and say they're in big trouble if he dies? Also notice the tone of his voice changed at the end?
As far as Locke, all bets are off on that one.
I'm a bit confused with there being two different storylines -- they land safely at LAX and they're still on the island. Not sure what's going on with that yet.
Nevertheless, I loved it and their cliffhangers are killer.
The finale is May 23 (yes, a Sunday) per the producers themselves.

Re: Lost
The two storylines represent two alternate realities going on at the same time. One if the bomb had not gone off and the other if the bomb had gone off. Listening to the show producers, this will be a key thing with the plot this year and how the two interconnect and possibly intersect....and potentially come back into one singular storyline.
I'm curious to find out about Jacob and the Man In Black...what their deal is. I don't think it will turn out to be they are aliens or Biblical figures....but I think they could kind of mesh the two as the blueprint to explain who they are and why they are on that island and why they don't age, die and can transform into the bodies of dead people, etc.
Curious to see if Sayid is now "Jacob". Supposedly the Man In Black, who is also the Smoke Monster, originally targetted Mr. Ecko as his guy to kill Jacob, but Ecko was too strong with his faith and when he realized he could not get to him he killed him. Locke on the other hand was "damaged" and he found a way to manipulate him to use him as his trojan horse so to speak to kill Jacob.
I'm also curious to find out who these temple people are and who Mr. Miyagi is....and of course Richard Alpert who I still am unsure why he is an "advisor" to Jacob and all that. Great show! Sad to see it end!

Re: Lost
I don't know about anyone else, but this final season has been awesome so far. Last night we saw Jack turn from a man of science to a man of faith in that scene with the dynamite. Old Jack would never have believed in destiny and that the fuse would go out. New Jack has heard his calling as Jacob foretold in the previous week, and it really looks like we are being setup for a showdown of Jack/Jacob vs Fake Locke (MIB)/Sawyer to end the season.
Gonna be sad to see this series go away.

Man am I going to miss this show.
That episode last night that was Richard-centric was awesome. One of the best of the series if you ask me. Answered a lot of questions, and really drove home the good vs. evil theme they have been working from day one of the series. Awesome final 5 min scene with Richard, Hurley, and Isabella. I can't believe we have just 7 episodes left until the finale.

Last night was a GREAT show. We've been wondering about Richard for quite a while now and got a LOT of questions answered.
This season has been amazing, so far.

Tuesdays episode was fantastic, I have been waiting so long for a Richard back story episode and it did not disappoint. I always figured he came from the Black Rock but never had an idea of his role with the ship.
I am not totally convinced Jacob is a "good guy". His explanation of the the islands purpose was great, but if his "job" is to keep the man in black from leaving he is either a guardian of some sort or the devil himself. There is a famous quote by some french poet.. Something like "the greatest ruse of the devil, is to convince them that there is no devil at all."
Also really curious as to whether the man in black lost his ability to change into human form somehow until Locke or if he chose to no longer take the form as shown when he freed Richard. He has appeared as Christian and Ben's daughter so I am guessing the "old" form was no longer useful but why?

Re: Lost
Boy, they just wiped out three main characters in one episode, like within 5 minutes of each other. I wonder if in any way when these time lines maybe converge if those who died maybe get "new life".
Looks like next week we finally get the back story on the whole Jacob and MIB thing, can't wait. Lots of loose ends to tie up with this show with just four hours remaining. It is exciting but sad at the same time as I hate to see it come to an end here in three weeks.

Sayid, Jin, and Sun, all gone. Plus the pilot. Kate and Sawyer not in great shape.
Jack appears to be the candidate.
Man, oh man.
I'm interested to see where Richard and Ben come in.

Forgot about the pilot, though I think like they did with Desmond they left it open that he may have survived. I think Jack may well be the candidate, but I think it may be more of a red herring and Hurley or Sawyer ends up the candidate. Going to be a wild ride these last three weeks.

Re: Lost
Jack replaces Jacob, as expected.
Ben is helping the MIB (tiny bit of a shocker). Desmond is the key to everyone's fate.
The two timeline's are close, but still not that close.
The MIB wants to blow the island up.
Not entirely sure if Richard is dead or just injured.
This should make for a VERY interesting finale.

Re: Lost
Amazing it is now down to the finale, which I hear will be 2.5 hours. Gonna miss this show. This season has been incredible and they are really sending it off well. I hope the finale does not disappoint.
As for the show, I don't think Richard is dead. He can't die, at least that's what I thought. If so, damn, they are just wiping out everyone in the past few episodes with the pilot, Jun/Sun, Sayid, Whitmore, and now Richard dying in two of the last three episodes.
I think I am just as curious to see how this alternate timeline gets straightened out. There is a connection there between the island timeline, just haven't seen it or I haven't caught onto it yet. Obviously, Desmond is the key to both timelines, and Locke seems to have everyone's fate in his hands in both timelines. I can't help but wonder if somehow everyone dies in the island timeline, but they somehow tie it together that they keep on living in the alternate timeline.
Crazy show. Excellent writing. Gonna miss it!

From what I hear, it is in fact two and a half hours. I don't think Richard is dead either.. it just seems like that'd be too easy/quick of a way for him to go out.
I'm very curious how the alternate timeline turns out. Even more so, I was a bit intrigued with Ben and how he reacted to being a "father figure" while Locke is preaching fate.
I'm a tad bit surprised Desmond is playing such a big role as he is. It's going to be interesting to see where he is and who finds him first.
I have a slightly different opinion how it's going to end. I have a feeling the end is going to have something to do with the light not going out.
Crazy, but great season. I'm sad it's all coming to an end, but excited to see the finale.

Re: Lost
Well there seem to be 3 groups of people after the finale.
1. Hated the ending. Hate JJ Abrams and co. for "lazy writing" and for leaving it open for a lot of discussion beyond "well that was dumb, Sawyer should have nailed both chicks."
2. Are just angry over how confusing the ending was, but satisfied as it was left up to your own interpretation.
3. Are as confused about the ending as anyone, but will fight you to the death in defending the shows conclusion.
So...which are you?
I'm in group 2 I suppose. Thought everything was built up great til the last 20 minutes or so...I didn't have any real issues with how the show actually ended, but I was let down with the ending considering how great the first 2 hours went.

Re: Lost
I loved the ending and really, I'm not that confused either. After taking some time to think about it, it really makes sense what happened. I'm not concerned with how many questions were or weren't answered, the ending was one of the most beautifully written I've ever seen. It was quite a way to go out for such a remarkable show.

Re: Lost
I'm a bit confused....
I think that the ending was a bit trivial, I mean heaven/purgatory/whatsoever....things already seen and furthermore I'm italian so I have spent all my school day studying Dante and his "Divine Comedy"....so the all concept it's not a big thing for me.
I found that the meaning of the flash sideways are a bit to difficult to understand and furthermore there are waaaaaaay to many question left unanswered....the numbers? Dharma? what's the island power? To protect form what? Widmore? The Japanese at the temple? but not a single and convincing answer about the real power of the island and way they were brought there.
No mistake: I did love the show, all 6 season, and I can cope with the very emotional ending...but I'd have liked some more answer and a less vague interpretation.
Anyway it's over and I can say without doubt:
Best series ever, with "The constant" best episode ever.
bye
