Saw earlier that the A's had put Crosby on waivers to see if anyone would take him, no one did so he remains an Athletic. He is due to make $5.25 Million next year, had some injury problems from 05-07, but played in 145 games last year so possibily the injury bug is behind him. I know his average and OBP haven't exactly been the greatest, still had 39 doubles and 61 RBI, but perhaps playing in his final year will give him some extra motivation to have a good year. If we didn't have to give up much or give them someone to take some of his contract he would be a inexpensive addition to the infield, if no MOR SP is added to the team.

Well, seeing as the Indians could have had him without giving up any players (just by taking on his $5m contract) and they refused, I don't see any chance of it happening.

Well they could be not wanting to take on the entire contract, so if the A's were desperate enough to get rid of him, maybe they would take a bit off of it.

yeah, I'd rather bring back Omar Vizquel. Would be cheaper and play much better D. And their offensive performances over the past 3 years haven't been that different overall really (Crosby hasn't had an OPS over .700 since 2005)....
