Hafner has lost weight, in better shape
There's an article up on cleveland.com about Hafner's workouts this winter and how he's losing weight. As long as he can still hit, sounds like a solid move. Should keep him healthier, which has been the main problem.

I know I'm being overly optimistic, but I think he comes back strong in 2009 and has another 100 RBI season.

He needs to do whatever it was the rejuvenated Marty Cordova a few years ago, If pronk can post a 360 OBP and 25-30 HR I will be thrilled

Great for Pronk.... Do what you have to do to bounce back. If that means losing weight, so be it.

Re: Hafner has lost weight, in better shape
The news I heard last week that made me more encouraged is that the months of October and November FINALLY saw Pronk's shoulder strength return. At the end of the season, they were really getting worried as he was still only around 60% strength in his shoulder. He was tested again at the end of November and was around the 90-95% mark, or so they claim. If so...now he just needs his timing and mechanics back and we have a star hitter back in the lineup.
Thinking about it....a .500 record without Pronk and for all intents and purposes, without a healthy V-Mart (1 homer!?!?!?) all season, and all the other injuries, they did well to sprint to the break-even mark.
