Tejeda- Tejada?
Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Indians are interested in trading for 34 year old Miguel Tejada. This would be only if the Astros would pick up a big chunk of his contract. Even so, I would think you would want to acquire a 34- year old shortstop if you had plans to contend this season.

Yeah same thing was posted on the clevelandfan message board, more of just a writer writing up a story as the Indians are one team out there looking for help at SS/3B. Another thing is says is a source, who may that source be? A bell hop at the hotel, a black jack dealer at the casino?

OK, you guys caught me. I was at the Bellagio yesterday pigging out on the crab and shrimp at the $17.99 lunch buffet and happened to mention to the waiter that I was Mark Shapiro's grandfather and looking to set up a meeting between Mark and the Astros about Tejada. If the rest of you want to be an inside source, his name is Juan and I heartily recommend the lobster raviola and the cold salmon cutlets.

I actually wouldn't mind Tejeda.....IF the Astros took Dellucci and paid $2M of his salary (we'd have to include a pitcher as well).
Still has 'some' pop in that bat (though a far cry from what he used to be). Wigginton would probably be the better fit from them....but Tejeda has had some success in the AL and had a .799 OPS with Baltimore in 2007. For about $6-7M (after the $2M and them taking Dellucci), he'd be a decent 1 year grab...

last resort, but I feel like his power numbers fell way off in the second half and that was in a hitters park
