He seemed to be playing it a lot at LC too.. Wonder what they'll do when Recknagel gets back.

From what I hear, Tice is almost exclusively at 1B now.

Is this change due to his lack of abilities or the needs of the organization or something else??

More an org need if you ask me. 3B is pretty well blocked with Bellows and Chisenhall in front of him while there isn't much at Kinston or Akron blocking him this year.

Nate Recknagel was back in Kinston tonight. Not sure who got sent out. All of the position players were still there.

Thanks. My guess would be a catcher, since we only have four of them. But, as I stated, they were all in the dugout or in the lineup.

Were they all in the dugout or was one in the bullpen? I'm thinking that one may have been sent to MV or AZL as a paper move and is being used as a bullpen catcher.

Chen was catching, Pickens in RF, and Castillo and Martinez were in the dugout. I'm sure one of them went down to the bullpen later on.

I think maybe Abner Abreu could be on the 7-day DL in the Recknagel move. He hasn't played in a couple of nights and I think he may have a minor injury. Pretty sure I saw Donnie Webb in the dugout last night so he should be activated soon. Diaz looking really good in the field but not so good at the plate. Gardner had probably his worst outing of the year last night. He was all over the place. It may have been Chen's blue catcher's mitt.

Chen hit a bomb over and beyond the left field wall, later hit the wall for a Double. Rivas played at 3rd, in my opinon had 3 errors but was only charge with 1. Adams was red hot and was throwing the heater all night. Fastball was in the 92-94 range.

The K-Tribe finally decided to release a bunch of DL moves today. I'm going to check when each of the players involved last played to try to establish actual dates.

Castillo on and Bryson off appears to have occurred today. The others between the 5th and 7th (Recknagel) or 9th (Webb)

Abreu on, Webb off ocurred Friday (the 9th)

http://www.kinston.com/sports/indians-6 ... adams.html

still looking for a date (from the 5th to the 7th) for the Recknagel off, Martinez on move.

EDIT: looking like the 6th or 7th (still 4 catchers on the roster as of 1:09 PM on the 6th):

Should be a quick game tonight; Gardner vs. a rehabbing Jordan Zimmerman in Potomac. I'm headed out to the game and probably at least 1 or 2 others in the series...if there are any other DC-area Tribe fans headed over this week, e-mail me and we'll meet up! Gotribe31@indiansprospectinsider.com

Potomac catcher Brian Peacock injured badly in collision at 2nd with Sanchez. No word on Sanchez (may still be in the game, I just started listening to the web feed). According to the P-Nats announcers (can't get the K-Tribe feed to work), he was bleeding pretty bad and had trouble breathing.

Prayers going out for him that he's not hurt badly.

Brian Peacock is having NO luck this year...was airlifted to a hospital just 6 weeks ago after being hit in the head by a pitch.

As far as Peacock's position, you're both right. Caught his entire career but with Derrek Norris in Potonac this year he's been forced to DH and play some 1B and OF as well as backup Norris.

What's going on with Austin Adams?!

The milb.com box score had him pitching the final 4 innings last night, but also had him starting (3IP so far) tonight..... that can't be right surely?!

Bryson strikes out the side in his inning of work tonight..... good to see him pick up right where he left off since coming off the DL.

Surely he has to be rostered after the season. A high profile reliever that misses bats isn't going to slip through the Rule 5 draft.

Think you would have too, I know that they are watching him extrememly closely innings-wise, but he needs to be in Akron now. A couple more games in Kinston should be it.

IMHO Bryson would have moved up a few weeks ago if he had not gotten hurt again.
I also believe that he gets added to the roster this off-season. No way does Shapiro/ Antonetti let him get away for cheap after he was the main pitching prospect received in the CC deal

I agree, he's gotta be on the short list of guys being rostered.

I mean, if Ambriz is taken and stuck on a team....a guy with the raw stuff of Bryson seems highly unlikely to go undrafted. I'd argue he's more ML ready now than Ambriz was to start the year.

For the first time in forever, I actually like our bullpen arms (at least right-handed) in the minors. :drinks:

Very lackluster performance last night all around. Seem to be going through the motions. Recknagel 3-run bomb and some decent relief pitching were the only bright spots.

Gardner finished with 6IP, 3H, 2R, 1ER, 2BB, 2K, 2HBP, 15GB and a lineout.

Didn't allow a hit after the first 3 hitters of the game.

Abreu back in the lineup DHing tonight..... you have to assume he's been dealing with some soreness.

Perhaps a carry over from his shoulder problems last year.

Encouraging bounce back outing from House tonight: -

6IP, 1H, 1R/ER, 1BB, 5K pitching in relief after last nights game was suspended after 2.

House was outstanding last night. Best outing since his 7-shutout performance earlier in the year against MB, if memory serves me well. Changed eye level with FB when he got two strikes, but otherwise kept the FB down in the zone all night. Secondary stuff was a lot better than it had been previously. One thing to note in talking to him yesterday is he says his velocity has been down some all year.

Good "bounce back" start by Gardner, going 5 innings with 2 hits, 2 walks and 5Ks. Nice to see this after his very rough outing against the same club this past Sunday.

Always like to see a good outing after a rough one, lets you know they are tough guys.

Another brilliant start for House - 7IP, 3H, 0R, 1BB, 3K

Over his last 3 games: -

T.J. looks like he has lost a little zip on the fastball in his last few outings, but has started throwing his changeup a lot more. He seems to be hitting his spots better and keeping hitters off balance. Most importantly, he has cut down on the walks. Shame he didn't get the win last night - he deserved it.
