According to a source, De La reportedly has a strained UCL and is out for 2-3 months. Ouch.

I will try and confirm this.

Do you think he'll be moved to the Kinston DL if this diagnosis is confirmed or will he probably stay on the MV roster until mid0-June when the Scrappers start playing and actually need their roster?

If De La is officially DLed, he would be in extended to rehab. He'd likely be removed from the Kinston roster altogether and stay on the MV roster for now or they remove him from that too (he has to be removed eventually anyway).

It is official. Indians official says he has the aforementioned elbow strain and is shutdown for six weeks. Which means it will be awhile before he is back. Bad news!

This reminds me of the situation with Tony Sipp a few years back. Kelvin is due for roster protection after this season or he can be lost to the Rule 5 draft.

Healthy or not, I feel Kelvin has shown enough to get roster protection after this season.
The injury will likely push back Kelvin's major league debut (if he ever makes it) to sometime during the 2011 season.
