Clippers Name Change?

I think this is a good idea. Any suggestions for a new name?

Does anyone know what the historical Indian tribe in that area of the state was?
Does anyone know what fish populates the rivers in that area of the state?

Columbus named after of course Christopher Columbus.

There's a tremendous amount of irony here, given the relationship between Christopher Columbus and actual Indians.

Whatever the organization does, I think changing the name would be a great idea to go along with the new stadium and the new affiliation as well. They need to sever any of those old ties with the Yankees. It would be odd to think that I would be looking forward to someone being called up from the Columbus Clippers.

Columbus Hunters get the stadium tie in, and then you could have a dead animal for a mascot its fun for the whole family

I love the Clippers logo, and would be fine with keep the name as is.

However, from the above mentioned, I like the Columbus Capitals the best. Alliteration is always a plus in a name.

I like the Buckeyes...Cleveland Buckeyes were a Negro League team...plus the obvious Buckeye tie-in in C-Bus

Don't know why Clippers needs to be changed.....


But I'd love for them to just be named the Columbus Indians.....which obviously can't happen since the team in Indianapolis is called the Indians (talk about confusing at times.....dumb Pirates).

Yeah tell me about the Indy Indians since I live near Indy and always say something about the Indians and they think I am talking about the team in Indy, seriously whats worse than the Pirates, the AAA team for the Pirates.
