Indians and White Sox reach 2-2 stalemate in Glendale
Jake Dungan started his week out here in Arizona with a tie back in Peoria last Saturday when the Indians and Padres played to a 4-4 draw after 10 innings, so it might as well end with one as the Tribe and White Sox ended their bout at Camelback Ranch in Glendale tied at two at the end of regulation play, opting not to play extra innings. Q&A: Ross Atkins talks about Minor League spring training
For anyone who has been to minor league spring training the first thing you notice is the abundance of players in camp as there are close to 180 players at any given time. But even with players pouring out of the fields like water in a flooded stream, things somehow, someway run smoothly every day as players move from field to field, from drill to drill, and from coach to coach with near precision. The IBI's Tony Lastoria sat down with Farm Director Ross Atkins last year and talked about everything that goes into minor league spring training, the decision-making process and so much more.

We've all heard the refrain "Spring training stats don't matter." But what exactly does that mean? Why do the same stats that players accumulate in the regular season not matter when it comes to spring training? John Grimm tackles the topic, explaining just what it is about spring training statistics that make them useless to make predictions about the upcoming season. Enjoy as John goes through this discardable data.
