Around the Farm: December 18, 2013
It was a slow night in winter ball as only two Indians players were in action on Wednesday night. However, the two of them provided enough action to be excited about. First of all, Jesus Aguilar extended his current hit streak to eight games with a pair of knocks in Venezuela. Next, Carlos Santana racked up three hits, including a homer and played another night at third base without incident. Join the IBI's Michael Goodman for all the details.

Optimistic offense at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario
The Cleveland Indians added David Murphy to their offense, and they subtracted Drew Stubbs, but past those moves, the Indians' offensive line-up of 2014 will look a lot like the offense of 2013. Is there an opportunity for this offense to improve, or did it plateau last year thanks to the potential decline years of Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher? Envisioning Carlos Santana at third base
With Yan Gomes established as Cleveland's starting catcher in 2014, Carlos Santana has begun to work out at third base in the Dominican Republic. Finding a way to get Santana at bats away from the designated hitter spot is a good one, but one big question remains: Will Santana at third base be more harmful than helpful? Swinging for the Fences: From the gutter to the grail
"From the gutter to the grail. we rise up to win it..." Those lyrical words of encouragement penned by newly-arrived pitching prospect Trevor Bauer provided some inspiration for the new-look Tribe early in the year. But while Bauer's contributions to the hip-hop community may have been productive last season, the same cannot be said for his pitching, unfortunately. Can he still live up to the hype? The IBI's Jake Dungan speculates in this week's Swinging for the Fences.
