AZL Indians Insider: 2013 season review - The hitters
Over the next few days Tony will be providing year-end pieces like this for all of the Indians six minor league affiliates. Due to the size of the roster at Arizona, this piece has been broken up into two pieces with part one on the position players posting today. Tony recently had a chance to sit down with Indians Assistant Director of Player Development Carter Hawkins to get the organization’s thoughts on the performance/development of some of the players there such as Clint Frazier, Francisco Mejia, Gerald Bautista, Ivan Castillo, D’Vone McClure, Silento Sayles and several others.

2014 MLB Draft: My Way too early Big Board
It is several months before the college baseball season begins, but that doesn't mean people aren't already talking draft. Since the summer leagues are done and the showcase circuit is over, IBI draft guru Jeff Ellis decided to sit down and make his first draft board. Next year's draft figures to be the best pool of talent in years, and with the Indians holding at least two first round picks it could be a very important draft for them.

Second Thoughts Game #150: Royals 7, Indians 1
Just a half game back of either wild card spot after sweeping the White Sox, the Indians looked to continue their strong play down the stretch as they rolled into Kansas City. The series opener ended up being a forgettable showing in every facet as the Indians looked lethargic while the Royals were sharp and on top of their game. The IBI's Kevin Dean shares his second thoughts...

Royals trump the Indians 7-1, Tribe remains half game out
The Cleveland Indians’ offense could not craft more than one run on Monday night as the team fell to the Kansas City Royals 7-1. Lefty Scott Kazmir picked his way through five innings of work as he fought to keep Cleveland in the game against Kansas City right-hander James Shields, but the Royals were sharp in all facets of the game and came away with a victory in game one of the series.

Notes From the Wigwam: Tribes moves to a half-game back
The Indians had an outstanding week as the team went 5-2, including a four-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox, to move just a half-game back in the American League Wildcard race. Everything seems to be going well for the Tribe as Jimenez continues to dominate and even Asdrubal Cabrera is showing some life at the plate. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he looks back at the successful week that was in the latest edition of Notes From the Wigwam.

Second Thoughts Game #149: Indians 7, White Sox 1
Even rain couldn’t cool off a surging Indians offense, as they completed the series sweep over their division rival White Sox Sunday afternoon, 7-1. After a rain delay of four hours and 23 minutes delayed the start time of the ballgame, it took the Tribe just two hours and 39 minutes to win their fourth straight over the last place Pale Hose. More importantly, the victory marks the first time since 2008 Cleveland has won 81 games in a season, as they continue to make their way toward October. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts...

Swisher's two blasts help complete another sweep of Sox
Nick Swisher homered from both sides of the plate and Asdrubal Cabrera went deep for the second game in a row as the Indians beat the Chicago White Sox 7-1 Sunday. The Tribe achieved a first by sweeping a four-game series of the White Sox for the third time in a season. The Price was right this year
RIght-handed reliever Bryan Price entered the Indians system in July of 2009 after being dealt to the Indians from the Boston Red Sox along with Justin Masterson and Clippers teammate Nick Hagdone. He often pitched well since being acquired, but injuries have held him back. Until this year. Finally healthy an entire season, Price made huge strides and also the development of a pitch in his arsenal was all the difference for him.

Cleveland Sports Insider 2:21: The Indians are charging edition
The Cleveland Browns have put up 16 points on the season. For those counting at home, that surely isn't a lot. While some of that can be attributed to Josh Gordon's suspension, much of that has to do with just a bad offense.Michael Hattery and Jim Pete will talk Browns football, but also dive into the Indians once again climbing from the ashes by dominating the hapless Chicago White Sox. Join Jim and Mike for your weekly dose of Cleveland Sports Talk, at 9:00!!!

Tribe Happenings: A healthy Tomlin gives the Indians options
Right-hander Josh Tomlin made his return to a major league mound this week tossing two scoreless innings against the White Sox on Thursday. Tony takes a look at his spectacular recovery from Tommy John surgery and how he could be looked at as someone to fill a rotation spot or be the Indians sixth starter next season. He also updates us on the wild wildcard race, wonders what the Indians should do with Vinnie Pestano, looks at how Ryan Raburn is used, and more.

Second Thoughts Game #148: Indians 8, White Sox 1
Another game on Chicago’s Southside, and another win for your Cleveland Indians. After a scoreless tie between both club’s through three innings, the Tribe offense unleashed two homers for a five run fourth to give them the lead they would never surrender. Indians bats roughed up White Sox right-hander Andre Rienzo for five runs on seven hits in just four innings. Tribe starter Ubaldo Jimenez took a shutout in the ninth inning, and pulled away with his best start as a member of the Indians.
