Second Thoughts Game #131: Indians 0, Braves 2
Since the start of August, the Indians offense has been next to last in the major leagues in production. Tuesday night was more of the same, unfortunately as the Indians scattered six hits and five walks without plating a run. One fateful pitch to Elliot Johnson was the difference in an otherwise well-pitched game. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his second thoughts on the Tribe's 2-0 loss in Atlanta.

Around The Farm: August 27, 2013
Could Josh Tomlin be a member of the Cleveland Indians rotation soon? It certainly appears that way after Tuesday night as the right-hander put together a brilliant, five-inning shutout performance for the Columbus Clippers. Join the IBI's Arthur Kinney as he recaps Tomlin's performance and more as he takes you Around the Farm.

Braves blank struggling Indians offense in Atlanta, 2-0
Even a few knocks on wood couldn’t cure the struggling Indians offense. Playing at Turner Field for the fourth time since Game 6 of the 1995 World Series, the Braves blanked Cleveland Tuesday night, 2-0. The Tribe outhit the Braves 6-3 in the contest, but unfortunately squandered multiple scoring opportunities. Join the IBI's Jim Berdysz as he recaps all the action from the tough Tuesday night loss.

Jammers sweep doubleheader against Scrappers

Launching off with the Aeros: 8/20/13 – 8/26/13
The Akron Aeros had a decent week -- winning four of their seven games -- though it was not enough to get them back into the playoff picture. One more loss (or an Erie SeaWolves win) eliminates the reigning Eastern League champions, though things are not all bad. Akron's bullpen dominated, as did two early-season heroes who had slumped of late. To find out who they are and everything you need to know from the past week, join Jim Piascik and go Launching off with the Aeros.

Breaking down the September callup options for the Indians
The Indians players enjoyed a much needed off day on Monday, but the organization was still hard at work in the offices at Progressive Field and on site at Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus evaluating September callup options for the stretch run. Tony checks in and goes through a list of 21 players at Akron and Columbus that are being considered for callups and provides insight into why they will or won't be called up by the Indians. Will Jose Ramirez fill a utility role? Does Jesus Aguilar get called up? What about Kyle Crockett or Bryan Price? He answers all of that and more in his latest...

Second Thoughts: Swisher, Bourn have not been up to par
Over the winter, Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher were given a combined $106 million (with the possibility of up to $132 million) to play for the Indians for the next 4-6 years. While they have both certainly helped the team more than hurt it in year one, neither has quite performed at their standard level of production. The IBI's Kevin Dean takes a look at the impact or lack thereof both have had this season.

Smith is finishing strong at end of long minor league season
One of the most common sayings in sports is it’s not how you start, but how you finish. After a dismal first half, the Carolina Mudcats are currently in the middle of a push for the final playoff spot in the Carolina League, and a big reason for that, is star right fielder Jordan Smith. After a slow start he has come on of late and is putting up another good season, and the IBI's Zachary Francis recently caught up with him to see how his season has gone.

Notes From the Wigwam: Wildcard race heats up
The Cleveland Indians are coming off an outstanding week as the team went 5-1 and is currently just 1.5 games back in the AL Wildcard race. After weeks like that, it's hard not to believe as the team even won a couple of games that they probably should have lost. Nonetheless, things are now looking up for the Tribe, which is especially positive considering the tough week ahead. Before moving on to this week though, join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he takes one last look at the week that was in Notes From the Wigwam.

Second Thoughts Game #130: Indians 3, Twins 1
It doesn’t matter how ugly it may be, a win is always a win no matter how you look at it. Except for one swing of the bat by right-handed hitter Drew Stubbs and the arm of left-handed starter Scott Kazmir, things weren't so pretty even on a picture perfect day at Progressive Field. Despite a season-high four errors in the ballgame, the Tribe squeezed past the Twins late, 3-1, to win the three-game series over Minnesota.
