Sailing with the Clippers: 8/22/13 to 8/28/13
Columbus continues to climb the ladder back to .500 with a 5-2 record over the past week and are now just one game away from the mark at 69-70. They’ve been mathematically eliminated from the International League West Division as the Indianapolis Indians took home the title with ease, but there is a glimmer of hope for a wildcard spot. The IBI's Ethan Day recaps the week that was for the Clippers.

Second Thoughts Game #132: Indians 2, Braves 3
The Indians offensive funk in August continued on Wednesday night as the Indians lost in heartbreak fashion on a walkoff hit in the bottom of the ninth. Once again the pitching way there for the Indians in a game that with just another hit here or there they could have won it. The IBI's Michael Goodman provides his second thoughts on a frustrating loss.

Braves walk-off with 3-2 win, Indians offensive woes continue
The stymied Indians offense may be the coldest thing in the heart of Hotlanta. Tribe Bats fell in a deep freeze again at Turner Field Wednesday, falling to the Braves in a nail bitter for the second straight night, 3-2. Right-hander Justin Masterson (14-9, 3.49 ERA) gave his team another quality start, allowing two runs on five hits through six innings.

After being swept by Salem to close out the home schedule, the Carolina Mudcats could ill afford another loss and responded to that in a big way, defeating the Lynchburg Hillcats 12-11 in seven innings on Wednesday night.

It's the turning point at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario
The Cleveland Indians have weaved their way through the 2013 season with a MacGyver-like precision. Terry Francona has used duck-tape, chewing guy, a paperclip and a toothbrush to carry the Indians into late August with a real chance at a playoff run. With the next eight games against teams in or fighting for the playoffs, Tribe Time really is now.

On-Deck with the Captains: 8/21/13 - 8/27/13
The season is winding down to its final week and the Lake County Captains won’t be seeing any postseason action this year. The past two weeks were vital for the team's chances to advance, but the wins just didn’t happen as the team was swept by West Michigan and dropped two of three to Dayton. With one homestand remaining, the team will look to finish strong before the fall leagues start. The IBI's Stephanie Metzger recaps the previous week for the Captains.

Second Thoughts Game #131: Indians 0, Braves 2
Since the start of August, the Indians offense has been next to last in the major leagues in production. Tuesday night was more of the same, unfortunately as the Indians scattered six hits and five walks without plating a run. One fateful pitch to Elliot Johnson was the difference in an otherwise well-pitched game. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his second thoughts on the Tribe's 2-0 loss in Atlanta.
