On nights like last night in Cleveland that leave a bad taste in your mouth, those are the nights when some of us are thankful for the minor leagues as no matter how bad things look on the major league side there is something interesting happened on a given night in the minors. Dorssys Pauino is a prime example of that, and the IBI's Michael Hattery looks at him and more....
In a city known for its heartbreak, the main act was on full display Monday night at Progressive Field. With the Indians clinging to a 2-0 lead in the ninth inning, Detroit scored four unanswered runs off closer Chris Perez capped off by a three-run homer by catcher Alex Avila to comeback and stun the Tribe, 4-2. Join the IBI's Jim Berdysz as he recaps a heartbreaking start to this crucial four-game set for the Indians.
Look closely at Francisco Lindor’s glove and you’ll see an interesting monogram. Embroidered on the shortstop’s Rawling’s model is “Lindor – BC.” The “BC” doesn’t stand for a college. It isn’t the initials of a girlfriend or family member. In this case, “BC” is a mantra: be consistent. That is what he has been and then some this year, and the IBI's Stephanie Metzger recently sat down and talked with the top prospect about his season to date.
In today's new edition of Minor Happenings, Tony takes a look at the hot play of Mahoning Valley first baseman Nellie Rodriguez and looks at his value and the strides he has made. Tony steps in and recaps the night around the farm and discusses Whitehouse and several other players.

It’s not often that a player can lead a team in batting average, home runs and runs batted in after missing a month of the season, but Carolina Mudcats second baseman Joey Wendle is doing just that. What a first full season in the minors Wendle is having and he has jumped into the mix with the other talented middle infielders in the organization. The IBI's Zachary Francis recently caught up with Wendle and talked about his success this season.
