McAllister, Indians take down the Angels in L.A., 5-2
Losing two of three to the Oakland A's over the weekend, the Indians traveled 370 miles down Interstate 5 looking for some help from the Angels to get them back on track. Scrappers swept in 4-2 loss to CrossCutters
As has been the theme this season and the story last night, errors from the Scrappers cost them yet another a winnable game, as the CrossCutters were victorious on Monday night by a final score of 4-2. The Scrappers had five total errors in Monday’s contest, all of which were monumental in scoring situations. Multiple errors were what gave the CrossCutters a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning and multiple errors were what won the CrossCutters the game in the eighth.

Notes From the Wigwam: Tribe stays in race
Playing on the road in the MLB is never easy, especially playing on the road on the West Coast, but that is unfortunately the type of road trip that the Cleveland Indians are on right now. The Indians struggled against the Oakland A's this past week, and the team will now face another opponent out west in the Angels. The games will be pivotal as the Tribe remains in the thick of the Wild Card chase. Before tonight's contest though, join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he recaps the week that was in Notes From the Wigwam.

Merritt has been a vital component of Lake County's success
Two weeks remain in the regular season but lefty Ryan Merritt has had months to prove himself as one of Lake County’s most reliable arms. He is working to improve while he and his teammates shoot for a bid in the Midwest League playoffs. Time is winding down, but Merritt’s lengthy career is just starting and the IBI's Stephanie Metzger recently sat down with him to discuss his season and future.

Second Thoughts Game #124: Athletics 7, Indians 3
Things were far from bright for the Indians on the Bright Side of the Bay Sunday afternoon. Tying the game at three in the fifth inning, Oakland rallied back to score four unanswered runs over their final four frames as they took the series finale against the Tribe, 7-3. No quality start from left-hander Scott Kazmir (7-6, 4.39 ERA) and more dismal production from anemic Cleveland offense easily led to another defeat, as the team has now dropped nine of their last 13 ballgames.

After rattling off a seven game win streak early in the month, the AZL Indians dropped their third straight game Sunday, falling to the AZL Angels 8-7. The Tribe offense did manage to pound out 16 hits on the night, but nine men left on base coupled with the bullpen allowing the AZL Angels to score in each of the last four innings ultimately doomed the AZL Indians.

Around The Farm: August 18, 2013
The Indians need help on offense at the big league level, and one player who may be available to help soon is first baseman David Cooper. He is torching the ball on his rehab assignment in Arizona, and may soon get pushed to Triple-A Columbus to give him a few games before adding him to the big league roster. The IBI's Arthur Kinney recaps his performance and others....
