Second Thoughts Game #126: Indians 4, Angels 1
It was the most exciting, frustrating, boring and astonishing night of baseball that most Cleveland fans probably will ever see. After the Indians tied the game at one in the seventh, the score would hold until the 14th inning as both teams failed to capitalize on opportunities. Drew Stubbs proved to be the hero as he broke through with a two-run homer in the 14th. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he recaps a late-night 4-1 Tribe win.

Crushers fall to CornBelters 4-1
Jeff Isom has a lot of theories. One of them pertains to his starting pitchers, and it rang true on Tuesday night. Isom likes to say that out of ten starts, a pitcher will have his best stuff in two of them. In two others, they'll lack their usual good command. In the other six, they will be somewhere in between.

Around The Farm: August 20, 2013
Tuesday night featured two good performances by players of distinctly opposite value to the Indians organization. At High-A Carolina infielder Paddy Matera continues to impress and has done a nice job filling in after signing as a free agent a few months ago, and at rookie level Arizona first round pick and young phenom Clint Frazier had another big night. The IBI's Arthur Kinney takes us Around the Farm to recap the night.

Indians come out with memorable 4-1 win over Angels in extras
It may have taken five hours and 17 minutes to complete, but in the eyes of Carlos Carrasco, it seemed more like 783 days. Having not won a game since June 29, 2011, Carrasco and the Indians came out on top in a 14 inning battle at Angel Stadium early Wednesday morning. When the dust settled and the clock struck 3:30 a.m. on the East Coast, the Tribe took down L.A. for the second straight night, 4-1.

Scrappers drop fifth straight, fall 4-2
Niles, OH – Averaging just over two runs per-game since the All-Star break, it’s fair to say the Mahoning Valley Scrappers offense has struggled as of late. Those struggles continued Tuesday night, and the Scrappers lost 4-2 to the Jamestown Jammers for their fifth straight loss.

Carolina loses heartbreaker 10-9
SALEM – For the second straight night, the Carolina Mudcats allowed the Salem Red Sox to jump out to a big early lead, but rallied to eventually tie the game before finally losing a heartbreaker 10-9 on Tuesday night. The loss drops Carolina (29-27, 51-75) 2.5 games behind Salem for the final wildcard spot.

Launching off with the Aeros: 8/13/13 – 8/19/13
The Akron Aeros were above .500 in a week for the first time since mid-July, winning four of their seven games as they moved their record to 60-67. The winning still leaves Akron seven games out of first place and the wild card, though with a young team, the growth shown by the Aeros throughout the season is a win on its own. To read about Tyler Naquin's first week, Jesus Aguilar setting records, and everything else you need to know, join Jim Piascik and go Launching off with the Aeros.

Second Thoughts Game #125: Indians 5, Angels 2
As streaky as this Indians offense has been this season, they’ve proven that it doesn’t take much to break out of a slump. While Monday night alone was no definite indication that the offense was on the cusp of another hot streak, they still put up a crooked number against one of the top pitchers in the league. A four-run fourth backed up by solid pitching by Zach McAllister gave the Indians a series opening win over the Angels.

Around the Farm: August 19, 2013
The Indians saw many fine performances on Monday Night, as several standout and potential standout prospects found their way into our nightly staple, Around the Farm. While most was positive, the biggest name on the list may be Vinnie Pestano, who once again struggled for Columbus. Join Michael Hattery, as he takes a look at Pestano's poor showing, as well as the rest of prospects of interest.
