Around The Farm: July 2, 2013
It was a quiet night on the farm as rainouts postponed two games, but there still were some good performances around the Indians system. Carlos Moncrief continues to just terrorize baseballs as he sends them screaming when he makes contact. What a breakout year he has had. Several others had good and bad nights, and Arthur recaps it all...

IBI Stock Watch: 2013 Midseason review Part 2
Last week Tony posted the first part of the IBI Stock Watch with a look at the players at Triple-A Columbus and Double-A Akron that are either raising or lowering their prospect value halfway through the 2013 season. Today, he takes a look at some of those showings at the High-A Carolina level, players like Joey Wendle, Francisco Lindor, Tyler Naquin, Jerrud Sabourin, Shawn Morimando, Bryson Myles, Bo Greenwell, and many others.

Launching off with the Aeros: 6/18/13 – 7/1/13
Launching off with the Aeros returns after a week hiatus, catching you up on two weeks' worth of Akron Aeros action. The past two weeks were not all that pleasant, as the team dropped 10-of-15 games and fell to fifth place in the Western Division. There was some unsightly pitching, though a newly-named All-Star did his best to carry the staff. That, plus powerful performances from a few outfielders, gave a silver lining to the losing. To find out who these players are and to catch up on all things Akron Aeros, join Jim Piascik and go Launching off with the Aeros.

Second Thoughts: Ranking the madness
A few days ago, Grantland's Andrew Sharp put out a wonderful article that recapped this year's NBA Draft, which was perhaps one of the most ridiculous drafts in the history of any sport. He chronicled the event using a 1-10 scale, in an "ascending curve of crazy." The IBI's Kevin Dean loved the concept, and in the spirit of the Indians' wild ride of a season thus far, he thought he would apply it to such on this off-day edition of Second Thoughts.

Around the Farm: July 1, 2013
The big league team was off on Monday, which put all of the focus on the minor league teams as every team was in action. There were some very good performances on the night - some not so good - but Danny Salazar, Jesus Aguilar, Dorssys Paulino and others headlined the night on the farm.

Crushers put forth disappointing effort in 8-0 loss
Lake Erie put forth a disappointing effort Sunday in Traverse City, falling to the Beach Bums 8-0 on just two hits to be swept in the weekend series. After winning seven of their last nine games, the Crushers came in on an odd schedule after each game of last week's series against the Frontier Greys was rained out and pushed further into the night. Coming out flat in key situations this weekend, the Crushers were outscored 18-5 with the majority of the runs coming on Sunday.

Second Thoughts Game #82: Indians 4, White Sox 0
For the first time since their last World Championship in 1948, the Cleveland Indians have swept their division rival Chicago White Sox on the Southside of the Windy City in a four-game series. The Tribe would score three runs off ChiSox ace Chris Sale already defeating him for the second time in two starts this season. While Cleveland scored four runs in the ballgame, all they would essentially need is one run thanks to another masterful pitching performance by ace Justin Masterson. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts...
