McAllister solid as Clippers defeat Ironpigs 3-2
The Clippers came back from the All-Star break well-rested defeating the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs 3-2. Columbus was able to consistently stay on the board, while the Ironpigs couldn’t seem to find their swing until it was too late.

Minor Happenings: Colon's back and better than ever
Well not that Colon, obviously. While Tony is off having fun on vacation, Jim Piascik fills in, analyzing High-A Carolina right-hander Joseph Colon's return from injury and his development, admires and breaks down the progress Double-A outfielder Carlos Moncrief has made in 2013, checks in with Aeros manager Edwin Rodriguez on how a dozen of his players are doing and what changes they are making, and provides insight and information on the likes of Alex Monsalve, Bryson Myles, Dorssys Paulino, Nellie Rodriguez, D'Vone McClure, and more!

Sailing with the Clippers: 7/11/13 to 7/17/13
The Columbus Clippers concluded the first half of their season on a high note, finishing the past week with a 4-1 record. The winning record is quite a welcoming sign for the Clippers who have been inconsistent all season, and things seem to be clicking on all cylinders for Columbus as the offense, defense and pitching have all been productive as of late. The IBI's Ethan Day takes us sailing in his weekly Clippers notebook...

Second Thoughts: Internal options for the pitching staff
With the trade deadline looming the Indians are said to be extremely active in trade discussion to improve the current team. Reports have linked the Indians to nearly every big-name presumed available starting pitcher and they’re also said to be on the lookout for relief help. That’s an expensive proposition, which may mean the Indians may have a need to look internally for players that can shore up the pitching staff. The IBI's Michael Goodman looks at those internal options they may turn to in the second half...

Indians hit jackpot in the Competitive Balance Lottery
The competitive balance lottery happened on Wednesday to no fanfare at all, but Indians fans should really be happy about it and need to know about it. The reason is simple: this pick becomes a big trade asset for the Indians. It could be the centerpiece in a trade, especially if it's for pen help. The IBI's Jeff Ellis explains the value of the pick and how fortunate the Indians were to get it.

Around The Farm: July 17, 2013
Nellie Rodriguez struggled at Lake County early in the season, making it was clear that the organization pushed the first baseman too quickly. After he was moved down to Mahoning Valley, Rodriguez looked better and started to produce, not that anyone could have seen Wednesday night coming. Rodriguez turned in a career performance, and to read all about it and the rest of the action from the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.

Rodriguez's career night not enough, Scrappers fall 7-5

2013 Trade Deadline: Top trade assets for the Indians
The July 31st trade deadline is only two weeks away. The second half of the season is set to begin and the Indians are right in the thick of the playoff race as they are 1.5 games out of first place and 3.0 games out of the wildcard. The Indians have been aggressive in their pursuit of options to complement their team and improve the lineup or pitching staff, and Tony runs down the assets the Indians have to acquire one of those players.
